New ionic liquids from azepane and 3-methylpiperidine exhibiting wide electrochemical windows
Green Chemistry, 2011Co-Authors: Tayeb Belhocine, Stewart Forsyth, H. Q. Nimal Gunaratne, Mark Nieuwenhuyzen, Alberto V. Puga, Kenneth R. Seddon, Geetha Srinivasan, Keith WhistonAbstract:New ionic liquids based on azepanium and 3-methylpiperidinium cations have been synthesised; they exhibit moderate viscosities and remarkably wide electrochemical windows, thereby showing promise, Inter Alia, as electrolytes and battery materials, and as synthetic media.

ionic liquids green solvents for the future
Pure and Applied Chemistry, 2000Co-Authors: Martyn J Earle, Kenneth R. SeddonAbstract:Ionic liquids, being composed entirely of ions, were once mainly of Interest to electrochemists. Recently, however, it has become apparent that, Inter Alia, their lack of measurable vapor pressure characterizes them as green solvents, and that a wide range of chemical reactions (reviewed here) can be performed in them.

unveiling phonological universals a linguist who asks why is Inter Alia an experimental psychologist
Behavioral and Brain Sciences, 2009Co-Authors: Iris BerentAbstract:Evans and Levinson are right to hold theories of language accountable for language diversity, but typological data alone cannot determine the structure of mental phonological grammars. Grammatical universals are nonetheless testable by formal and experimental methods, and the growing research in experimental phonology demonstrates the viability of a comparative experimental evaluation of the UG hypothesis.

negative correlation between individual insect level virulence and colony level virulence of paenibacillus larvae the etiological agent of american foulbrood of honeybees
Applied and Environmental Microbiology, 2009Co-Authors: Sandra Rauch, Kati Hedtke, Ainura Ashiralieva, Elke GenerschAbstract:Paenibacillus larvae is the etiological agent of American foulbrood (AFB) in honeybees. Recently, different genotypes of P. larvae (ERIC I to ERIC IV) were defined, and it was shown that these genotypes differ Inter Alia in their virulence on the larval level. On the colony level, bees mitigate AFB through the hygienic behavior of nurse bees. Therefore, we investigated how the hygienic behavior shapes P. larvae virulence on the colony level. Our results indicate that P. larvae virulence on the larval level and that on the colony level are negatively correlated.

Connected algebraic groups acting on 3-dimensional Mori fibrations
2021Co-Authors: Blanc Jérémy, Fanelli Andrea, Terpereau RonanAbstract:We study the connected algebraic groups acting on Mori fibrations $X \to Y$ with $X$ a rational threefold and $\mathrm{dim}(Y) \geq 1$. More precisely, for these fibre spaces we consider the neutral component of their automorphism groups and study their equivariant birational geometry. This is done using, Inter Alia, minimal model program and Sarkisov program and allows us to determine the maximal connected algebraic subgroups of $\mathrm{Bir}(\mathbb{P}^3)$, recovering most of the classification results of Hiroshi Umemura in the complex case.Comment: 83 pages, comments are welcom
