  • Research on the control strategy of large-scale wind power Energy storage system
IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies, 2012
Co-Authors: Luo Weihua, Feng Songqi, Ge Weichun, Wang Zhiming
    Abstract:

Different from conventional generators, wind power is an Intermittent Energy Source, power system dispatch and control is confronted with new challenges. This paper establish the mathematical model of wind power and Energy storage system for simulation and analysis, and study the wind power prediction using statistical methods and physical methods, and study the key technologies of automatic generation control and automatic voltage control which were in the large-scale wind power and Energy storage system. The results show that the wind power prediction is reasonable for grid, and the power quality and stability of wind farm connected to power grid can be well improved by battery Energy storage.

  • power electronic systems for the grid integration of renewable Energy Sources a survey
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2006
Co-Authors: Juan Manuel Campos Carrasco, Eduardo De Teresa Galván, Leopoldo G. Franquelo, J.t. Bialasiewicz, R C P Guisado, M M Prats, Jose I Leon, Narciso Morenoalfonso
    Abstract:

The use of distributed Energy reSources is increasingly being pursued as a supplement and an alternative to large conventional central power stations. The specification of a power-electronic interface is subject to requirements related not only to the renewable Energy Source itself but also to its effects on the power-system operation, especially where the Intermittent Energy Source constitutes a significant part of the total system capacity. In this paper, new trends in power electronics for the integration of wind and photovoltaic (PV) power generators are presented. A review of the appropriate storage-system technology used for the integration of Intermittent renewable Energy Sources is also introduced. Discussions about common and future trends in renewable Energy systems based on reliability and maturity of each technology are presented

  • A Fuzzy Adaptive Control Strategy for Composite Energy Storage System to Cope With Output Power Fluctuation of Intermittent Energy Source in Microgrid
    Power system technology, 2015
    Co-Authors: Xiong Xion
    Abstract:

In allusion to the output power fluctuation of Intermittent Energy Source in microgrid, an evaluation index based on the output variation of Intermittent Energy Sources within adjacent time intervals and the power balance between supply and demand is established. A wavelet packet decomposition based charging/discharging strategy of the composite Energy storage system is put forward; the high- and medium-frequency components of the power of the Intermittent Energy Source decomposed by wavelet packet are taken as the initial charging/discharging value of the composite Energy storage system, and the unbalanced power between supply and demand is utilized to perform the first correction of the charging/discharging power of composite Energy storage system, and the output of fuzzy control of present charging/discharging capability of the composite Energy storage system is utilized to perform the second correction of the charging/discharging power. The effectiveness of the proposed strategy is validated by results of the case study.
