Phylogenetic relationships and morphological evolution in Lentinus, Polyporellus and Neofavolus, emphasizing southeastern Asian taxa.
Mycologia, 2015Co-Authors: Jaya Seelan Sathiya Seelan, Alfredo Justo, László Nagy, Edward A. Grand, Scott A. Redhead, David S. HibbettAbstract:The genus Lentinus (Polyporaceae, Basidiomycota) is widely documented from tropical and temperate forests and is taxonomically controversial. Here we studied the relationships between Lentinus subg. Lentinus sensu Pegler (i.e. sections Lentinus, Tigrini, Dicholamellatae, Rigidi, Lentodiellum and Pleuroti and polypores that share similar morphological characters). We generated sequences of internal transcribed spacers (ITS) and partial 28S regions of nuc rDNA and genes encoding the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II (RPB1), focusing on Lentinus subg. Lentinus sensu Pegler and the Neofavolus group, combined these data with sequences from GenBank (including RPB2 gene sequences) and performed phylogenetic analyses with maximum likelihood and Bayesian methods. We also evaluated the transition in hymenophore morphology between Lentinus, Neofavolus and related polypores with ancestral state reconstruction. Single-gene phylogenies and phylogenies combining ITS and 28S with RPB1 and RPB2 genes all support existe...

Phylogenetic Relationships of Lentinus (Basidiomycotina) Inferred from Molecular and Morphological Characters
Systematic Botany, 1993Co-Authors: David S. Hibbett, Rytas VilgalysAbstract:Phylogenetic relationships of the basidiomycete Lentinus were investigated using 20 morphological and 133 nucleic acid sequence characters from three regions in the 5' half of the nuclear-encoded large subunit rRNA. Molecular data were obtained from 34 individuals that rep- resent 11 species in Lentinus, nine in the Polyporaceae, eight in the Tricholomataceae, and one in the Corticiaceae. Thanetephorus cucumeris (Tulasnellales) was used as an outgroup for rooting pur- poses. Most of the sequence variation was in regions that correspond to eukaryote-specific divergent domains DI and D2. Molecular data alone yielded a well-resolved cladogram but morphological data alone were insufficient to resolve phylogenetic relationships. The most resolved cladograms were obtained with a combined analysis of molecular and morphological characters. Bootstrap and decay index measures of branch robustness had a significant positive correlation, but some branches with high bootstrap values were contradicted by near-minimal trees. Monophyly of Lentinus sensu Pegler was not supported. Rather, three monophyletic groups of Lentinus species were resolved. These largely correspond to NeoLentinus, Panus, and Lentinus s. str. The latter appears to be derived from the Polyporaceae, suggesting that lamellae are products of convergent evolution.

PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN LUMPUR SAWIT FERMENTASI DENGAN Lentinus edodes DALAM RANSUM TERHADAP PERFORMA PUYUH PETELUR

Parameter yang diukur yaitu konsumsi ransum (g/ekor/hari), produksi telur harian(%), berat telur(g/butir), massa telur(g/ekor/hari), konversi ransum. Critical reviews in food science and nutrition, 2013Co-Authors: Huidan Yan, Jian Tang, Jian Chen, Xuewu ZhangAbstract:Lentinus edodes has been valued as edible and medical resources. Polysaccharides have been known to be the most potent antitumor and immunomodulating substance in Lentinus edodes. In this review, we summarize the current knowledge of the polysaccharides isolated from Lentinus edodes, including extraction and purification methods, chemical structure and chain conformation, the effects on innate and adaptive immunity and their mechanism, relationship between structure and function, and the future prospects.
