    Abstract:

    In this paper I argue that certified-organic inspection agents play a key role in reworking transnational organic-product Certification standards to the unique conditions found within Mexican (Oaxacan) organic-coffee producer villages. First, I document the steps through which transnational product-Certification norms, under the International Organization for Standardization guide 65 rubric, are codified as practical standards by organic-product certifying agencies. These standards are found to embed contradictions between inclusiveness and transparency that lead to difficulties in field-Level implementation: in essence, practices required to make organic production legible to transnational certifiers often have the opposite effect of making Certification unintelligible at the village Level. Second, I show how field-Level Certification inspectors, working under contract to certifying agencies, cooperate with village organic extension agents to make Certification legible both to villagers and to transnatio...

Friday August 15th dawned dismal, but didn't discourage twenty one devoted golf fanatics from competing at the Magrath Golf Course for Trophies and other prizes. Ross Blackmere with a one over par 73 won low gross in the men's category , while his son Brooks Blackmere came in with a 5 over par 77 to take the junior mens trophy Shari Jonson shot a 110 to claim the junior ladies trpphy. Ray Stevenson claimed the trophy for low gross in the Senior Mens category with a fast paced 82. The low net honors went to Wade Johnson in mens category at 65, while Jon Rudd and Larry Bolokowski took the trophies for low net in the junior mens and senior mens categories respectively. Closest to the pin towels were awarded on all four par three holes and were awarded to Larry Bolokowski on hole number 3, Wade Johnson number 5, Ken Dahl hole number 14 and Shari Johnson on 17. The Stake activities committee wish to thank Ted Haynes and Ross blackmere for their help organizing and advertizing the tournament and also the Bank of Montreal for donating tees & towels for the prizes.     We present a hardware trusted computing base (TCB) aimed at Direct Recording Voting Machines (T-DRE), with novel design features concerning vote privacy, device verifiability, signed-code execution and device resilience. Our proposal is largely compliant with the VVSG (Voluntary Voting System Guidelines), while also strengthening some of its rec-comendations. To the best of our knowledge, T-DRE is the first architecture to employ multi-Level, Certification-based, hardware-enforced privileges to the running software. T-DRE also makes a solid case for the feasibility of strong security systems: it is the basis of 165,000 voting machines, set to be used in a large upcoming national election. In short, our contribution is a viable computational trusted base for both modern and classical voting protocols.

    Abstract:

    Modern automotive systems require increased performance to implement Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS). GPU-powered platforms are promising candidates for such computational tasks, however current low-Level programming models challenge the accelerator software Certification process, while they limit the hardware selection to a fraction of the available platforms. In this paper we present Brook Auto, a high-Level programming language for automotive GPU systems which removes these limitations. We describe the challenges and solutions we faced in its implementation, as well as a complete evaluation in terms of performance and productivity, which shows the effectiveness of our method.

    PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively and quickly construct a high Level Certification system without necessitating any high Level technical knowledge by using a specific IC card, Certification security server, and dedicated API. SOLUTION: An IC card(protect memory type and CPU built-in type) is used. A Certification security server and an IC card device are introduced in a stand alone type, and the IC card is used by a Certification application program activated on a personal computer so that the high Level security of the unique Certification of a person in charge of the processing, an ending processing for an interruption processing, and an IC card issue/maintenance processing can be executed. Also, the Certification security server is introduced on a network server even on a network, and the IC card device and the Certification application program are activated for a client. Self-company development can be attained by using the Certification application API, and also this can be sold as a package software developed for the market.
