  • the review of the socio political fiction novels under binary opposition and logocentrism case study of novel entitled orang orang proyek by ahmad tohari
RELACult - Revista Latino-Americana de Estudos em Cultura e Sociedade, 2020
    Co-Authors: Abdul Muqit
    Abstract:

The socio-political fiction novel is real and presents an implicit portray of the community's social life of a dwell. This sort of literature is less prevalent because every reader might have their perception while the authors favor particular value according to their social and mental experiences. An Indonesian novel entitled "Orang-Orang Proyek" by Ahmad Tohari, which represents the real condition of the Indonesian community under their political and social situations, is a perfect portray to describe the relation between binary opposition and logocentrism. Both theories will affect the author how they describe each character, even decide how the story ends. This paper tries to break down that literary work using the deconstructive-reading method to read a text with multi-interpretation where the version contains many probabilities of meaning. This study will provide insight into the correct reading method according to the purpose and type of Literacy used in literary works.

  • A classic fairy tale in the first triennial of the elementary school and the family Literacy
    2017
    Co-Authors: Lukaček Alenka
    Abstract:

L. Mandel Morrow (1995) meni, da »družinska pismenost vsebuje načine, kako starši, otroci in drugi družinski člani uporabljajo pismenost doma in v njihovi skupnosti. Aktivnosti so bile usmerjene v razvijanje bralnega razumevanja, oblikovanje bralnih strategij in razvoj jezikovnih zmožnosti. Raziskovalci in strokovnjaki uporabljajo različne pristope za ocenjevanje družinske pismenosti, zato sem najprej z Listo naslovov in avtorjev otroških knjig (Marjanovič Umek, Fekonja Peklaj) ugotovila poznavanje otroških knjig in pravljic staršev otrok. Starše sem navdušila za voden projekt družinskega branja in pripovedovanja klasičnih pravljic. Ker književna vzgoja v prvem triletju osnovne šole temelji na komunikacijskem pouku književnosti, so učenci razvijali recepcijsko zmožnost s poslušanjem, branjem in tvorjenjem/(po)ustvarjanjem klasičnih pravljic. S standardiziranim bralnim testom avtoric S. Pečjak in N. Potočnik sem preverila splošno bralno zmožnost učencev ob koncu prvega triletja osnovne šole. Razvita bralna zmožnost je v učnem načrtu (Program osnovna šola. Slovenščina. Učni načrt. 2011) opredeljena kot sposobnost hitrega avtomatiziranega branja z razumevanjem in predstavlja osrednjo učno spretnost. A classic fairy tale by a known author is modelled on a folk fairy tale as regards the structure, themes and motifshowever, it mostly differs from it in poetics which gives the fairy tale the character of the author’s narrative” (Haramija, 2012: 17). Fairy tales have been researched since the 19th century and they have been analysed according to numerous theories: folk theory, structuralism theory, literary theory, psychoanalytic theory, sociological theory, feminist theory, and poststructuralist theory (Blažić, 2014). In the educational curricula for Slovene in primary schools (Program osnovna šola. Slovenščina. Učni načrt. 2011), a fairy tale is one of the suggested literary genres in the first triad. Another aspect of my theoretical interest concerned family Literacy. According to L. Mandel Morrow (1995), »family Literacy contains methods how parents, children and other family members use Literacy at home and in their community. L. Knaflič writes that family Literacy includes all the activities connected with Literacy that a family engages in (2009: 7). The way family Literacy influences the Literacy of children has been analysed in numerous researches. International Adult Literacy Survey (1999), in which also Slovenia took part, has shown that “various activities connected to Literacy (reading books, visiting libraries etc.) that family members undertake have higher importance than an abundance of reading materials” (Knaflič, 2002: 37). In the research part of my MA thesis, I presented the project of family reading of classic fairy tales. The activities were oriented into developing reading comprehension, devising reading strategies, and developing linguistic skills. Researchers and experts use different approaches for assessing family Literacy. Therefore, I checked how familiar parents are with children’s books and fairy tales using the list of titles and authors of children’s books (Marjanovič Umek, Fekonja Peklaj). I made parents enthusiastic about a guided project of family reading and telling classic fairy tales. Since teaching literature in the first triad of the primary school is based on a communicative approach, the students developed their perception skills through listening, reading and writing/re-creating classic fairy tales. With a standardized reading test by authors S. Pečjak and N. Potočnik I established the general level of students’ reading skills at the end of the first triad of the primary school. An acquired reading skill according to the educational curricula for Slovene in primary schools (Program osnovna šola. Slovenščina. Učni načrt. 2011) is defined as a skill of fast fluent reading with comprehension and it represents the central learning skill. The results of the reading test showed an individual student’s reading skills as compared to other third-graders’ reading skills. The results will enable me a more efficient planning of providing help for an individual student. At the same time, my teaching will become more efficient. Although it is not possible to generalise the results, the project of family reading of fairy tales will be applicable in other situations, as an example of good practice

    2021
    Co-Authors: Humler Martin
    Abstract:

Title: Physical Literacy of high-school students Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to acquaint the reader with the issue of physical Literacy and to suggest possibilities that could be used to improve the pedagogical practice of not only beginning teachers. The thesis is focused on high school students, so the age group of 15 to 19 years, specifically, their motivation for physical activities was examined. Methods: In the thesis it is used a method of questionnaire in order to determine the motivation of high school students for physical activities. Data obtained from questionnaire survey was processed by standard statistical methods in Microsoft Excel. The theoretical part is processed in the form of literary search of available resources on the topic of the thesis. Results: I found that the motivation for physical activity of high school students is higher than I expected. The main motive of high school students for performing physical activity is "appearance". The value of BMI does not affect the choice of the dominant motive for physical activity. I also found that understanding the concept of physical Literacy can significantly contribute to improving pedagogical practice. Abstract:

Klíčová slova: pohybová gramotnost, motivace, dotazník, žáci, střední školaTitle: Physical Literacy of high-school students Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to acquaint the reader with the issue of physical Literacy and to suggest possibilities that could be used to improve the pedagogical practice of not only beginning teachers. • The Role of Health Literacy on the Self-Management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: A Systematic Review
    'Sociological Research Online', 2020
    Co-Authors: Jeganathan Cynthia, Hosseinzadeh Hassan
    Abstract:

2020, 2020 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. The effects of health Literacy in developing self-management skills among people suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a topic that has been lightly tread upon. The advent of tobacco smoking and air pollution caused by the industrialisation era has caused a startling increase in the rates of incidence and prevalence of those diagnosed with COPD. Despite advancement in medical treatment, prevention and health care systems COPD poses a great challenge to public health now than ever before. This systematic review examines eight articles that have dealt with the role health Literacy plays in developing self-management skills. This study found that there is no relationship between the adequacy of health Literacy and the knowledge or learning of a self-management skill. The relationship between heath Literacy and developing skills such as correct technique of inhaler use, awareness of an exacerbation, usage of home-based technological support (telehomecare) needs further delving. Remarkably, it also revealed that health Literacy sensitive materials improved self-management skills in all the levels of health Literacy. More research is required in identifying Literacy sensitive methods that would be beneficial to all disregarding of the level health literary. A wider range of self-management skills pertaining to prevention, maintenance and control needs to be explored

  • coproduction of transformative services as a pathway to improved consumer well being findings from a longitudinal study on financial counseling
    Journal of Service Research, 2015
Co-Authors: Martin Mende, Jenny Van Doorn
    Abstract:

Although many consumers turn to financial counseling to improve their financial well-being, the effectiveness of these counseling services remains nebulous and the exact mechanisms through which they improve consumer well-being require further research. This longitudinal research demonstrates that consumers’ coproduction of financial counseling services is pivotal for increasing their credit scores and for decreasing their financial stress. Drawing on self-determination theory, this study also shows that financial Literacy, consumer involvement, and attachment styles are important drivers of coproduction. Involvement plays a moderating role, such that higher involvement substitutes for lower levels of financial Literacy and mitigates the negative effects of attachment avoidance on coproduction. These findings help both counseling agencies and public policy makers improve the effectiveness of financial counseling. Financial counselors should track their customers’ objective and subjective financial literac...
