Overview of Lithium Carbonate and its preparation
Chinese Journal of Power Sources, 2011Co-Authors: Wang Jin-liangAbstract:Lithium Carbonate is the essential matetial for the production of Li-ion batterties. The production, market distribution and the main manufacturers for the industrial and battery Lithium Carbonate at home and abroad were introduced. The technics of Abstracting Lithium Carbonate from ore and from salt lake brine were compared with each other. And the requirements of Lithium Carbonate production to the Lithium contents and impurity contents in ore and salt lake brine were analyzed. At last, the market of Li-ion battery and the battery-type Lithium Carbonate was estimated.

Control study of Lithium Carbonate combined with sodium valproate in the treatment of acute manic episode
The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, 2008Co-Authors: Li YunAbstract:Objective:To explore the efficacy and side effects of Lithium Carbonate with sodium valproate in the treatment of acute manic episode.Method:Fifty-six patients with acute manic episode were randomly assigned into two groups,Lithium Carbonate combined with sodium valproate and Lithium Carbonate alone for 6 weeks.Efficacy and side effects were assessed with Bech-Rafaelsen mania rating scale(BRMS)and treatment emergant symptom scale(TESS)before treatment and after treatment for 1,2,4,6 weeks. Results:As compared with the baseline scores,BRMS scores decreased significantly in both groups after 6 weeks' treatment, and the scores decreased more markedly in combined group(Lithium Carbonate and sodium valproate)than in alone group(Lithium Carbonate). Conclusion:The Lithium Carbonate combined with sodium valproate to treat acute manic episode has better efficacy and fewer adverse events, and taking effect more quickly.

Lithium Carbonate in chronic schizophrenia--a brief trial of Lithium Carbonate added to neuroleptics for treatment of resistant schizophrenic patients.
Acta psychiatrica Scandinavica, 1991Co-Authors: P. J. Collins, E. P. Larkin, A. P. W. ShubsachsAbstract:The value of Lithium Carbonate as an adjunctive treatment of resistant schizophrenia was tested in a 4-week clinical trial using a single-blind, randomized, consent design. Treatment and control groups were drawn from a population of detained patients in an English special (maximum security) hospital. The 2 groups were comparable in terms of age, sex, severity of symptoms, length of hospitalization and concurrent neuroleptic dosage. The addition of Lithium Carbonate to the treatment regimen did not result in symptomatic improvement in patients completing the treatment protocol. The ethical and practical difficulties raised by the trial are discussed.

preparation of Lithium Carbonate from spodumene by a sodium Carbonate autoclave process
Hydrometallurgy, 2011Co-Authors: Ya Chen, Qianqiu Tian, Baizhen Chen, Ting LiaoAbstract:Abstract Preparation of Lithium Carbonate from spodumene concentrate was carried out by a sodium Carbonate autoclave process. The effects of different operation conditions including liquid-to-solid ratio, Na/Li ratio, agitation speed, reaction temperature and reaction time on the Lithium Carbonate conversion efficiencies were initially investigated. The results show that the conversion efficiency is not less than 94% under the optimal conditions. The purity of the obtained Lithium Carbonate can reaches up to 99.6%, which is higher than that obtained by sulfuric acid method.
