  • HPCA (China) - Studies on the performance of a heuristic algorithm for static and transportation facility Location alLocation problem
Lecture Notes in Computer Science, 2010
    Co-Authors: Xin Wang
    Abstract:

Static and transportation facility Location alLocation problem (STAFLA) is a new problem in facility Location Research. It tries to find out optimal Locations of static and transportation facilities to serve an objective area with minimum costs. STFLS [2], a heuristic algorithm, has been proposed to solve STAFLA problem successfully and used into real applications. In this paper, an extended formalization of STAFLA problem is given first. Then the thorough analysis on the computing performance of the algorithm STFLS is discussed. Experiments have been conducted to demonstrate the efficiency and practicality of STFLS.

  • ISMIS - GIS-FLSolution: A Spatial Analysis Platform for Static and Transportation Facility Location AlLocation Problem
Lecture Notes in Computer Science, 2009
    Co-Authors: Xin Wang, Liqiang Geng
    Abstract:

Static and transportation facility Location alLocation problem is a new problem in facility Location Research. It aims to find out optimal Locations of static and transportation facilities to serve an objective area with minimum costs. The problem is challenging because two types of facilities are involved and Locations of transportation facilities are dependent on Locations of static facilities and demand objects. This paper proposes a new stand-alone GIS platform, GIS-FLSolution, to solve the problem. Combined with a customized algorithm called STFLS, the platform is built on MapObjects and can successfully provide results with a friendly graphical user interface. Preliminary experiments have been conducted to demonstrate the efficiency and practicality of the platform.

  • Disparities in Retention in Care Among Adults Living with HIV/AIDS: A Systematic Review
    AIDS and Behavior, 2019
Co-Authors: Ashley N. Anderson, Christine M. Higgins, Regine Haardörfer, Marcia Mcdonnell Holstad, Minh Ly T. Nguyen, Drenna Waldrop-valverde
    Abstract:

As national HIV prevention goals aim to increase the proportion of persons living with HIV, determining existing disparities in retention in care will allow for targeted intervention. The purpose of this systematic review was to identify existing disparities in retention in care. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis Protocols (PRISMA-P) 2015 guided this systematic review. Electronic databases, including PubMed/MEDLINE, CINAHL, Sociological Collection, PsychInfo, and Cab Direct/Global Health, were systematically searched and twenty studies were included. This review identified disparities in retention in care that have been documented by race, gender, age, HIV exposure, incarceration history, place of birth, and U.S. geographic Location. Research is necessary to further identify existing disparities in retention in care and to better understand determinants of health disparities. Additionally, interventions must be tailored to meet the needs of health disparate populations and should be assessed to determine their effectiveness in reducing health disparities.

  • Review on Facility Location Models
Operations Research and Management Science, 2006
    Co-Authors: Wang Fei
    Abstract:

In the paper we review facility Location Research with over 100-year history and propose the development of facility Location has three stages.Discrete facility Location problems include median,covering,center,multi-commodities,dynamic,multi-objective,routing Location and hub Location problems.
