Color Image Watermarking Algorithm Based on DWT and Support Vector Regression
2013Co-Authors: Hongyu Bian, Xinghui Quan, Dongyan ZhaoAbstract:A color image watermarking algorithm based on discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and support vector regression (SVR) is proposed in this paper. The watermark information is embedded in the wavelet domain of Luminance Channel of YCbCr color space. In the process of training SVR, the algorithm use relationship between approximation coefficient and its neighborhood, at the same time, the relationship of approximation coefficient and three detail coefficients for the same position in the four sub bands is also used. Then, the watermark is embedded in the approximation coefficients of the single-level wavelet decomposition according to the relationships. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has good imperceptibility and robustness to common image processing.

Color Image Watermarking Using Support Vector Regression
2009 2nd International Congress on Image and Signal Processing, 2009Co-Authors: Hongyu Bian, Yufei YangAbstract:This work concentrates on the problem of color image watermarking based on support vector regression (SVR). The original color image was partitioned into contiguous 3×3 blocks. Each block was converted from the RGB color space to the YCbCr color space and the watermark information was embedded in the Luminance Channel of YCbCr color space. Some blocks with small variance in Luminance Channel were selected for SVR which was trained to learn the relationship between the center pixel and its neighborhood. The watermark was embedded by comparing the Luminance value and the output of the trained SVR. Experimental results show that the proposed method has good imperceptibility and robustness against common image processing.

IIH-MSP - Color Image Watermarking Scheme Based on Support Vector Regression
2009 Fifth International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing, 2009Co-Authors: Hongyu Bian, Xinghui QuanAbstract:A color image watermarking scheme based on support vector regression (SVR) is proposed in this work. Considering the characteristic of human visual system (HVS), the watermark information is embedded in the Luminance Channel of YCbCr color space. The Luminance component of original color image is partitioned into contiguous blocks. Some blocks with small variance values are selected to train SVR to learn the relationship between the center pixel and its neighborhood. Then, the watermark is embedded and extracted by comparing the Luminance value and the output of the trained SVR. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme has good imperceptibility and robustness to common image processing.

Boundary matching based translucent TV logo detection
2008 IEEE 16th Signal Processing Communication and Applications Conference, 2008Co-Authors: T.k. Ate, Ersin Esen, Ahmet Saracoglu, A. Aydin AlatanAbstract:Increasing trend in the usage of translucent television logos by broadcast Channels renders opaque logo detection algorithms inadequate. Important applications such as identification of broadcast types make the detection of translucent logos a significant requirement. This paper presents a method for detecting translucent television logos in video streams. Firstly, boundary information of the logo, which will be searched in broadcast stream, is extracted manually. This search is carried out by comparing the edge map of the Luminance Channel of the interest region with inner and outer contours of the logo using different metrics. Performance is increased by utilization of temporal redundancies and solutions to special problematic cases. Furthermore, traces of the logo boundaries are examined in chrominance Channels of video frames in order to eliminate false alarms caused by opaque logos with the same boundaries. Promising results indicate the applicability of the method in real life.

Color image ownership protection based on spectral domain watermarking using QR codes and QIM
Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2018Co-Authors: Luis Rosales-roldan, Jinhui Chao, Mariko Nakano-miyatake, Hector Perez-meanaAbstract:Some watermarking authentication methods based on spectral domain using QR codes and Quantization Index Modulation (QIM) are proposed for ownership protection in color images. The QR code is created with the owners’ information and used as binary watermark sequence, which is permuted using Arnold Permutation to increase the security before embedding it. Once the watermark sequence is generated, the original color image is transformed from RGB to YCbCr color space where the Luminance Channel (Y) is processed by the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD), Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) to embed the binary watermark sequence using Quantization Index Modulation (QIM). The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Watermarking-based Color Image Authentication with Detection and Recovery Capability
IEEE Latin America Transactions, 2016Co-Authors: Luis Rosales-roldan, Manuel Cedillo-hernandez, Jinhui Chao, Mariko Nakano-miyatake, Hector Perez-meanaAbstract:In this paper a watermarking-based color image authentication with detection and recovery capability is proposed, in which a Halftone image is used as an approximated version of the Luminance Channel (Y) and a coded version of the coefficients of the Two Dimensional Discrete Cosine Transform of the chrominance Channels (Cb, Cr) of the YCbCr color space are used as watermark signal. The Luminance and chrominance information is embedded into the sub-bands of lowest frequency of the Integer Wavelet Transform of the original Luminance Channel using Quantization Index Modulation Dither Modulation. The Luminance information in embedded into the LL sub-band meanwhile the chrominance information is embedded into the LH and HL sub-bands. Besides, a Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network is used as inverse halftoning to increase the quality of the recovered image. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method compared with some published before.

Multipurpose color image watermarking algorithm based on IWT and halftoning
2010Co-Authors: C. Santiago-avila, Mariko Nakano-miyatake, M. Gonzalez Lee, Hector Perez-meanaAbstract:In the security of digital contents, almost all previous works tried to attend either the copyright protection issue or the content authentication issue, however recently some proposals try to solve simultaneously both problems. In this paper, a multipurpose method that tries to solve both problems for color images, using two watermarking algorithms, is proposed. The first algorithm is based on a self-embedding technique which uses the halftone version from the Y, Cr and Cb Channels of the original color image as the watermark, then, the Quantization Index Modulation (QIM) method is used to embed in the integer Wavelet transform (IWT) domain. In the second algorithm, the halftone watermark image generated from Luminance Channel Y is watermarked manipulating their flipabble pixels to embed a bits sequence related to the owner's copyright information.

ICISP - Improving the Tone Mapping Operators by Using a Redefined Version of the Luminance Channel
Lecture Notes in Computer Science, 2014Co-Authors: Nikola Banic, Sven LončarićAbstract:Tone mapping operators (TMOs) convert high dynamic range (HDR) images to low dynamic range (LDR) images and are important because of the limitations of many standard display devices. Even though the quality of the resulting LDR image mostly depends on TMO parameter values, in this paper it is shown that it can be further improved by using alternative definitions of the Luminance Channel, which TMOs process. A new model of the Luminance Channel calculation that increases the resulting LDR image quality is also proposed. The main advantage of the new model is that the TMOs that produce results of lower quality can be made to produce results of significantly higher quality.
