  • Renal Lymphangiomatosis during pregnancy: management with percutaneous drainage.
    European radiology, 2001
Co-Authors: Mustafa Ozmen, Ö. Deren, Deniz Akata, Okan Akhan, Haluk Özen, T. Durukan
    Abstract:

We report a unique case of exacerbation of renal Lymphangiomatosis during pregnancy which was managed percutaneously until delivery. Renal Lymphangiomatosis is a very rare benign disorder that might cause abdominal pain and rarely hypertension and hematuria. Surgical treatment options may result in nephrectomy. Percutaneous drainage of symptomatic renal lymphangiomas should be viewed as an efficient therapeutic option particularly when surgery is contraindicated.

  • Bilateral renal Lymphangiomatosis: US and CT findings
    European radiology, 1998
    Co-Authors: J. R. Varela, A. Bargiela, I. Requejo, R. Fernandez, M. Darriba, F. Pombo
    Abstract:

A case of bilateral renal Lymphangiomatosis in an asymptomatic 50-year-old female is presented. Ultrasound and CT studies were performed. A finely septated fluid collection surrounding both kidneys and traversing the midline was found. Surgical biopsy was obtained and revealed findings compatible with Lymphangiomatosis. A review of the literature of renal Lymphangiomatosis is given.

  • Splenic cystic Lymphangiomatosis in association with omental varices and portal hypertension: A case report.
    Medicine, 2018
Co-Authors: Wei Fan Hsu, Chun Chieh Yeh, Wen Hsin Huang, Cheng-yuan Peng
    Abstract:

Rational Lymphangiomatosis is rare and benign, and slowly proliferating lymphatic vessels of unknown etiology and visceral Lymphangiomatosis involving the spleen is rare. Since Lymphangiomatosis may be asymptomatic or present as a sense of fullness, splenic cystic Lymphangiomatosis is a disease of little concern. Patient concerns A 34-year-old woman suffering from progressive epigastric fullness after oral intake for two weeks. Diagnoses Physical examination showed a palpable mass which was more than 10 cm in size over the left hypochondrium. An abdominal computed tomography disclosed marked splenomegaly with multiple cystic lesions in the spleen, causing external compression with right-sided deviation of the adjacent organs and varices in the upper abdomen. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy revealed portal hypertensive gastropathy. Interventions Conventional total splenectomy was performed in this patient because of an enlarged spleen and unknown etiology, preoperatively. Upon surgery, splenomegaly with polycystic content and varicose vessels over the omentum were noted. Autologous spleen transplantation was not performed because of limited orthotopic and vascularized spleen. Outcomes The patient is doing well 18 months after splenectomy. Lessons This was a rare case presenting with splenic cystic Lymphangiomatosis in association with omental varices and portal hypertension. Splenic cystic Lymphangiomatosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of patients with a palpable painless mass over the left hypochondrium.

  • Metachronous Bilateral Renal Lymphangiomatosis Mimicking as a Simple Renal Cyst
    Korean Journal of Urology, 2008
Co-Authors: Hoon Jang, Jeong Hyun Ban, Myeong Heon Jin, Du Geon Moon, Duck Ki Yoon
    Abstract:

Hoon Ah Jang, Jeong Hyun Ban, Myeong Heon Jin, Mi Mi Oh, Du Geon Moon, Duck Ki Yoon From the Department of Urology, Korea University College of Medicine, Seoul, Korea Renal Lymphangiomatosis is a rare developmental malformation of the perirenal lymphatic system, and this can result in the development of cystic masses in the peri-pelvic or peri-renal areas. This is difficult to differentiate from other cystic renal disease on imaging studies. We present here a case of metachronous bilateral renal Lymphangiomatosis that was falsely diagnosed as a simple renal cyst. A 47 year-old man was referred for a large amount of drainage after right renal cyst marsupialization. The abdominal computed tomography (CT) findings and fluid analysis were compatible with a Lymphangiomatosis. After 6 month, he presented with flank pain on his left side and CT showed intracystic hemorrhage on the left renal Lymphangiomatosis. Percutaneus drainage and conservative management were done.
