is the nairu Theory a monetarist new keynesian post keynesian or a Marxist Theory
Metroeconomica, 2008Co-Authors: Engelbert StockhammerAbstract:The NAIRU (non-accelerating inflation rate of unemployment) Theory has become the mainstream Theory in explaining unemployment in Europe and is often used to justify demands for a cutback of the welfare state, such as reducing unemployment benefits. Close inspection reveals that it, perhaps surprisingly, shares some arguments with Post Keynesian and even Marxist Theory. The paper proposes an underdetermined, encompassing NAIRU model, which is consistent with several theoretical traditions. Depending on the closure with respect to demand formation and determination of the NAIRU itself, the model allows for New Keynesian, Post Keynesian and Marxist results.

2006Co-Authors: Engelbert StockhammerAbstract:The NAIRU Theory has become the mainstream Theory in explaining unemployment in Europe and is often used to justify demands for a cutback of the welfare state, reducing unemployment benefits, reducing minimum wages, decentralizing collective bargaining etc. Close inspection reveals that it nonetheless shares some arguments with Post Keynesian and even Marxist Theory. The paper proposes an underdetermined, encompassing NAIRU model, which is consistent with several theoretical tradtions. Depending on the closure with respect to demand formation and determination of the NAIRU itself, the model allows for New Keynesian, Post Keynesian and Marxist results.

Social Engineering is a New Field in the Study of Marxist Theory
Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University, 2011Co-Authors: Li Yong-shengAbstract:The paper points out that there are three major kinds of the spirit of the Marxist Theory,i.e.,the revolutionary spirit of transforming the world, the overall spirit of dialectical thinking and the practice spirit oriented to reality. These major kinds of the spirit have germinated the thinking and paradigm of social engineering. The chinization of Marxism cannot be separated from the exploration and innovation of social engineering.Social engineering paradigm is a new way of Marxism to grasp the world in this big science era,and it absorbs and reflects a vast variety of achievements and approaches of modern scientific knowledge.Analyses show that social engineering has opened up a new field in the application and development of Marxist Theory,so it will be of great significance for enriching and developing Marxist Theory.

Introduction: Marx is Back – The Importance of Marxist Theory and Research for Critical Communication Studies Today
tripleC: Communication Capitalism & Critique. Open Access Journal for a Global Sustainable Information Society, 2012Co-Authors: Christian Fuchs, Vincent MoscoAbstract:This paper introduces the overall framework for tripleC’s special issue “Marx is Back. The Importance of Marxist Theory and Research for Critical Communication Studies Today”. We point out why there is a return of the interest in Marx (“Marx is back”) and why Marxian analysis is important for Critical Communication Studies today. We also provide a classification of Marxian dimensions of the critical analysis of media and communication and discuss why commonly held prejudices against what Marx said about society, media, and communication are wrong. The special issue shows the importance of Marxist Theory and research for Critical Communication Studies today.
