The use of CRMs in quality control and quality assurance of analytical determinations and in development of newer analytical methodologies is widely recognized. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) maintains a Database on internationally available CRMs of natural matrices. This Database is periodically updated, and presently documents about 2700 reference Materials. Several food and clinical natural matrix Materials certified for nutritionally essential substances are included. The IAEA Database serves as a useful indicator of the status of current developments in natural matrix CRMs in this field. This article provides an account of the available data on natural matrix reference Materials related to diet and create an awareness among the prospective end-users to enable the wider adaptation of these CRMs for validation purposes.

The toolbox is constructed as a modular structure of standard building elements, using the graphical programming language Simulink. To enable development of the toolbox, a common modelling platform is defined: a set of unique communication signals, Material Database and documentation protocol. The IBPT is an open source and available on the Internet. Any user can utilize, expand and develop the contents of the toolbox. This paper presents structure and essence of the library. a sensitivity study of parameters affecting residual stress predictions in finite element modelling of the inertia friction welding process
International Journal of Solids and Structures, 2015Co-Authors: O Iracheta, C J Bennett, W SunAbstract:This study presents a finite element (FE) model capable of predicting the final residual stress field in an inertia friction welded component of a CrMoV steel considering the elastic and inelastic components of strain resulting from mechanical deformation, temperature changes in the Material and volumetric changes associated with phase transformations. The Material Database was improved to include the properties of the child phases involved in the polymorphic transformation during inertia friction welding (IFW) of CrMoV steels, i.e. austenite and quenched martensite, taking different approaches based on existent experimental data from the parent phase (tempered martensite) and Material characterisation of the heat affected zone (HAZ) in weld trials. This is the only FE model available in the literature that takes into consideration the effects induced by the transformation strain component of multiple phases in the total strain generated during IFW. Several simulations were run using this FE model in order to address for the first time the sensitivity of the final residual stress field to the individual effects of the microstructural changes, the interrelationship of multiple phases, and to different processing parameters such as the die geometry, clamping history and cooling rates.

The toolbox is constructed as a modular structure of the standard building elements using the graphical programming language Simulink. Two research groups have participated in this project. In order to enable the development of the toolbox, a common modelling platform was defined: a set of unique communication signals, Material Database and documentation protocol. The IBPT is open source and publicly available on the Internet. Any researcher and student can use, expand, and develop the contents of the toolbox. This paper presents the structure and the backbone of the library. Three examples are given to visualize the possibilities of the toolbox.
