    Co-Authors: A I Khasanov
    Abstract:

patients with locally advanced nasal, parana- sal and Maxilla Sinus Cancer of stages Т 3 и Т 4 who were made ligation and catheterization of external carot- id artery with neo-adjuvant intraarterial polychemo- therapy. We worked out indications and contraindica- tions for performance of the method of continuous in- traarterial polychemotherapy with catheterization of the external carotid artery. There determined indica- tions and contraindications for external carotid liga- tion. After performance of external carotid ligation, in 105 (84%) patients, reduction of tumor sizes, pre- Cancerous edema, evident pain syndrome due to loss of lesion site supply and arrest of acute and chronical bleeding were followed, that corresponds with obser- vations of other investigators. In 5 cases, when cathe- ter was introduced into the branch of external carot- id artery and then into facial artery the pain syndrome was more evident. Administration of catheter in exter- nal carotid artery has been more proved in these cas- es. The technique developed is a high effective meth- od promoting reduction of tumor sizes and pain syn- drome. Their usage result in reduction of intraopera- tive and postoperative blood loss, as well as it has di- agnostic significance: lymph dissection to verify the tumor lesion. Administration of chemicals via cathe- ter to the tumor site provides increase in their concen- tration in the tumor for more prolonged period that enhances the therapeutic effect.

    West China Medical Journal, 2007
    Co-Authors: Gong Yun
    Abstract:

Objective:To review the efficacy of radiotherapy before or after operation respectively in the treatment of Cancers of nasal Sinuses. Methods:All data by computer in Medline,Embase,Cochrane-CCTR and CBM were serrched and the references used in the qualified papers were consulted. There are 3 participator who independently evaluated the quality of the experiments and the data were collected.Selection criteria:Randomized, controlled trials,In which participants with nasal Sinus Cancer, comparing RS to SR on 5-years survial rate. Results:Eight experiments and 1016 patients accorded with the criteria of study were evaluated. The review showed that only patients with T4 Maxilla Sinus Cancer in RS group had better effect of the treatment compared to the patients in SR group. No conclusion could be drawn that the results from treatment of patients in RS group was better than that in SR group.
