  • Multicriteria heuristic search
European Journal of Operational Research, 2003
Co-Authors: Lawrence Mandow, J. L. Pérez De La Cruz
    Abstract:

Abstract This paper extends the Multicriteria decision paradigm to the heuristic search domain in a systematic way. A useful formal definition of Multicriteria heuristic graph search problems is provided. Then the fundamental issues in Multicriteria search are described in detail and a general framework is developed. Several new procedures are presented and analyzed for the usual Multicriteria decision rules: multiobjective, multiattribute, goal satisfaction, and lexicographic search.

  • Discrete Optimization Multicriteria heuristic search q
    2003

  • Multicriteria Analysis in Telecommunication Network Planning and Design: A Survey
    Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis, 2016
    Co-Authors: João C. N. Clímaco, José Craveirinha, Rita Girão-silva
    Abstract:

The interaction between a complex socio-economic environment and the extremely fast pace of development of new telecommunication technologies and services justifies the interest of Multicriteria evaluation in decision making processes associated with several phases of network planning and design. Based on an overview of current and foreseen evolutions in telecommunication network technologies and services we begin by identifying and discussing challenges and issues concerning the use of Multicriteria analysis in telecommunication network planning and design problems. Next we present a review of contributions on these areas, with particular emphasis on routing and network design models. We will also outline an agenda of current and future research trends and issues in this application area of Multicriteria modelling.

  • the promcalc gaia decision support system for Multicriteria decision aid
    Decision Support Systems, 1994
Co-Authors: Jean Pierre Brans, Bertrand Mareschal
    Abstract:

Abstract PROMCALC & GAIA is the last development of the interactive decision support system based on the PROMETHEE and GAIA methodology. In the first section, the fundamental characteristics of Multicriteria problems are recalled and requisites are formulated for an appropriate Multicriteria decision aid methodology. Based on these requisites, the PROMETHEE methods are then introduced, including newer developments such as PROMETHEE V (Multicriteria optimization under constraints) and the GAIA visual modelling method. The actual implementation of the proposed methodology in the PROMCALC & GAIA software is then detailed and a numerical example is developed to illustrate the possibilities of the system.

  • New recommendation techniques for Multicriteria rating systems
    IEEE Intelligent Systems, 2007
    Co-Authors: Youngok Kwon
    Abstract:

Personalization technologies and recommender systems help online consumers avoid information overload by making suggestions regarding which information is most relevant to them. Most online shopping sites and many other applications now use recommender systems. Two new recommendation techniques leverage Multicriteria ratings and improve recommendation accuracy as compared with single-rating recommendation approaches. Taking full advantage of Multicriteria ratings in personalization applications requires new recommendation techniques. In this article, we propose several new techniques for extending recommendation technologies to incorporate and leverage Multicriteria rating information.
