  • A HighSpeed Direct Frequency Synthesizer
    Direct Digital Frequency Synthesizers, 2010
    Co-Authors: Venceslav F. Kroupa
    Abstract:

This paper describes a UHF direct frequency synthesizer (DFS), which is primarily intended for radar and electronic warfare applications. The device generates square-, sine-, and triangle-wave outputs, true and complement, in-phase and quadrature, over the range 1 Hz to 500 MHz. It is a fully integrated design, including two digital-to-analog converters (DAC's) which each have a faster Operating Specification than any DAC currently available. The circuit is composed of a number of structured circuit blocks, each of which can be tested independently on the chip. This approach has benefits both during device evaluation and as an aid to minimizing production test times.

  • Appendix SET-TMP-PT of the Experiment Operating Specification for the Savannah River One-Fourth Linear Scale, One-Sixth Sector, Tank/Muff/Pump (TMP) Separate Effects Tests (SET) experiment series
    1993
    Co-Authors: J.s. Bollinger, T.j. Boucher, J.l. Anderson, J.d. Sterrett
    Abstract:

The Savannah River One-Fourth Linear Scale, One-Sixth Sector, Tank-Muff-Pump (TMP) Separate Effects Tests (SET) are being conducted by the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory to investigate Savannah River Site (SRS) production reactor tank, muff, pump suction, and pump hydraulic response phenomena for large break loss-of-coolant accident (LBLOCA) scenarios. The test series consists of experiments representing a range of hydraulic conditions and geometries which bound those anticipated for LBLOCAs in SRS reactors. Data from these experiments will be examined to identify important hydraulic phenomena with the objective of providing data for benchmarking code calculations. Information obtained from the SET series will also expand the SRS data base on reactor LBLOCA events. Due to inherent scaling distortions and facility limitations, the results of experiments in the SET series will not be precise replications of full-scale Savannah River Site production reactor (SRSPR) response, but will provide hydraulic behavior sufficiently representative of full-scale SRSPR behavior to preserve important hydraulic phenomena and satisfy test objectives. This document is Appendix SET-TMP-PT of the Experiment Operating Specification for the third set of experiments in the SET series. It contains information on experiment operation and facility configuration necessary to meet the key objectives stated in the bingham pump formalmore » test matrix definition letter. In addition, general guidance is included to meet expanded objectives of providing complete characterization of the pump for all modes of operation (partially defined in a letter defining pump suction and maximum flow rate characterization tests). Finally, information necessary to complete testing initiated as part of Phase II testing is also included.« less

  • HSE Management for China Offshore Drilling Project
    International Petroleum Technology Conference, 2013
Co-Authors: Zhong Cheng, Kun Cheng, Guang Yang, Xiaojun Mou, Xiaolong Huang
    Abstract:

According to the International Drilling HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) management standards and advanced management experience as well as hazard management techniques, CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Corporation) constantly improves HSE management objectives of offshore drilling platforms, HSE organizations and HSE Operating Specification in compliance with its particular drilling operation and development features, with the aim of in-place management and effective measures. During more than 30 years’ drilling operations, CNOOC has already learned and summarized a set of drilling project HSE management systems, which have achieved good results. This article introduces the CNOOC Offshore Drilling HSE management organization and management system. Specifically, it presents the offshore drilling HSE guarantee measures from five aspects, which include field operation risk control, traffic safety, staff health, environmental protection, and emergency measures. Through the implementation of these management methods and measures, the CNOOC offshore drilling projects have gradually achieved the HSE management objectives: minor damage, low accident rate, and zero pollution.
