    Based on the in-memory database HANA, SAP fundamentally re- thought and redesigned its business Process management offering. In this paper we explain how organizations can use the new product SAP Operational Pro- cess Intelligence to create real-time Process visibility and propose line-of- business workers appropriate actions to respond immediately on critical busi- ness situations. This product is designed to capture and manage the increasing vast amount of relevant Process events from different internal and external sys- tems.

    Abstract:

    The ability to steer business operations in alignment with the true origins of costs, and to be informed about this on a real-time basis, allows businesses to increase profitability. In most organisations however, high-level cost-based managerial decisions are still being made separately from Process-related Operational decisions. In this paper, we describe how Process-related decisions at the Operational level can be guided by cost considerations and how these cost-informed decision rules can be supported by a workflow management system. The paper presents the conceptual framework together with data requirements and technical challenges that need to be addressed to realise cost-informed workflow execution. The feasibility of our approach is demonstrated using a prototype implementation in the YAWL workflow environment.     In recent years a real-time resource model updating concept has proven to increase the material quality control and Process efficiency in geostatistics. The real-time resource model updating concept integrates online-sensor data, measured from the production line, into the resource model. This integration quickly improves the accuracy of the resource model. The aim of this contribution is to adapt this concept into coal production and to apply the developed framework on an industrial case. The result of this study will provide an additional improvement to coal quality management, by mainly focusing on the ash content in the deposit. This includes high ash values in coal seams, which are caused by sand intrusions and are greatly affecting the Operational Process. A tailored Ensemble Kalman Filter approach, specifically applicable in coal production, is presented after a detailed literature review. For validation, a 2D case study is performed in a fully controllable environment. Further, the approach is benchmarked against an alternative proven approach. To demonstrate the value added a full scale industrial application is performed focusing on improving the lignite quality control in the production Process. The results of integrating online measurement data into the resource model indicate a significant improvement (in the order of 70%) in coal quality production.

    Abstract Sustainable supply chain management has been studied in the past. However, the previous studies lack proper justification for a multi-criteria decision-making structure of the hierarchical interrelationships in incomplete information. To fill this gap, this study proposes a hierarchical grey decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory method to identify and analyze criteria and alternatives in incomplete information. Traditionally, the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory method does not address a hierarchical structure and involves incomplete information within its analytical method. However, the grey theory compensates for incomplete information. This study's purpose is to apply the proposed hierarchical structure to identify aspects of and criteria for supplier prioritization. This includes an original set of criteria for structuring the following: aspects as a sustainable plan, communities for sustainability, sustainable Operational Process control and sustainable certification and growth. The results present the recycle/reuse/reduce option as a tool to increase the material savings percentage, which is the top criterion for supplier selection. This study concluded that the hierarchical analytical method provides a strong basis for future academic and practitioner research.
