    Abstract:

    PROMIS (Project Management Information exchange Services) is a research consortium with Fujitsu, IBM Japan, Hitachi, NEC, Nomura Research Institute, NTT DATA and Nanzan University. It aims at developing a new software engineering platform for managing SSN (Software Supply Network), an inter-Organizational Model of software development. This article reports on the background, goals, research challenges, our approaches and main results of the PROMIS consortium. Major technical contributions include a management Model for SSN, a common resource Model for exchanging management data as Linked Data, and a RESTful resource-oriented architecture on top of OSLC (Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration) over the Web.

  • Designing Tutoring Activity - An Extension of Two EMLs, Based on an Organizational Model of Tutoring

    Abstract:

    In this paper, we will focus on tutoring design in the context of online learning activities. Our problem concerns the computer support used by a designer to describe tutoring, as regards the specification of the tutors' roles and actions or the support tools for their activity. After presenting the limits of educational Modeling languages in terms of tutoring, we will propose an Organizational Model of tutoring called TRITON. We will show its interest and its easy integration in EMLs through two case studies: IMS-LD and LDL, for which we propose an extension to enrich the tutoring scenario.

    Abstract:

    Workflow technology plays a key role as an enabler in E-Commerce applications, such as supply chains. Until recently the major share of the attention of workflow systems researchers has gone to the exchange of information in cross-Organizational processes. Increasingly the focus is shifting from the exchange of data to support for interOrganizational workflow processes. One of the initiatives in this direction has been XRL (eXchangeable Routing Language), an extendible instance-based language having an XML syntax and Petri-net semantics. In this paper, we move to the next level by extending XRL with Organizational entities, structures, and rules. Hence, we describe an Organizational Model first in UML and then convert it into an XML DTD. Our Organizational Model allows for the specification of non-human resources, collections of resources (e.g., departments, teams, etc.), availability of resources, delegation, and role inheritance. Additional features of our proposal are the tight integration of Organizational concepts and routing concepts. An important goal of this work is to create standard for Organizational Modeling much like the X. 500 standard for directories.

    The service oriented architecture provides an abstraction utility that is characterized to be autonomous, well defined, and self-contained. In this research we define the basic building blocks of a security reference Model composed out of processes domain view, security requirements view, infrastructure management view, security assurance view, and survivability management view. We build a security attributes Organizational Model based on security processes states and security attributes requirements. We continue to dissect our proposed architecture based on the service oriented architecture reference Model, and map the SOA dimensions into security requirements attributes.
