  • Modelo de protección de activos de información estratégica : una lectura desde la dirección y gerencia de la seguridad de la información
Universidad de los Andes - Ediciones Uniandes, 2019
    Co-Authors: Ospina Jarro, Eduardo Andres
    Abstract:

The permanent challenge of organizations of defending their position in the market has motivated reference studies on information security models that help to maintain a global level of assurance of their business. However, these models do not specify how to protect a company's value promise, so there is a need to understand how to secure information that enables the achieving of organization's strategic Objectives. Therefore, an understanding information as a key business asset, this article proposes a conceptual diagnostic model for the protection of information associated with strategic Organizational Objective

  • The transition of Dutch social housing corporations to sustainable business models for new buildings and retrofits
    'MDPI AG', 2021
    Co-Authors: Lambrechts W, Mitchell A, Lemon M, Mu Mazhar, Ooms W, Van Heerde R
    Abstract:

Social housing corporations play an important role in society as they provide affordable and good-quality housing for vulnerable citizens. Yet, the sector has to deal with the historical legacy of a high number of old and poorly insulated buildings. While research into the processes that drive or hinder business model innovation in this sector is scarce, this paper draws upon multiple qualitative case studies of social housing in the Netherlands to identify critical success factors for the transition to sustainable business models for new buildings and retrofits. Results show that there are four key attributes for a successful transition process: collaboration (both with supply chain partners as well as other social housing associations); continuous innovation; vision; and the role of the government (including subsidies and fiscal regulations). While economic performance was an important boundary condition, sustainability was not always seen as a strategic Organizational Objective, a finding that might be explained through considering the legacy of social housing corporations. Furthermore, a number of barriers were identified including the need for customer acceptance, a lack of support from the construction sector and government and macroeconomic factors such as increased construction costs

  • a survey on the perception of innovation in a large product focused software organization
International Conference on Software Business, 2015
Co-Authors: Johan Linaker, Hussan Munir, Per Runeson, Bjorn Regnell, Claes Schrewelius
    Abstract:

Context. Innovation is promoted in companies to help them stay competitive. Four types of innovation are defined: product, process, business, and Organizational. Objective. We want to understand the perception of the innovation concept in industry, and particularly how the innovation types relate to each other. Method. We launched a survey at a branch of a multi-national corporation. Results. From a qualitative analysis of the 229 responses, we see that the understanding of the innovation concept is somewhat narrow, and mostly related to product innovation. A majority of respondents indicate that product innovation triggers process, business, and Organizational innovation, rather than vice versa. However, there is a complex interdependency between the types. We also identify challenges related to each of the types. Conclusion. Increasing awareness and knowledge of different types of innovation, may improve the innovation. Further, they cannot be handled one by one, but in their interdependent relations.
