    L'imagerie ultrasonographique per-operatoire presente de nombreux avantages sur les autres techniques d'imagerie. Les auteurs presentent leur experience dans l'etude echographique de cent patients. Une vaste iconographie est exposee. Il est possible de controler et de biopser directement non seulement les lesions intracerebrales, telles que les gliomes ou les metastases, mais aussi les abces ou les kystes. L'echographie per-operatoire est interessante pour les lesions medullaires et les traumatismes du rachis. Dix ans apres sa premiere utilisation en neurochirurgie, cette methode est toujours utilisee, son cout est faible et sa mise en œuvre tres facile
