    Abstract:

    Personal Nutrition and wellness advisor system comprised of at least one computing platform, medical and Nutrition knowledge databases, food nutrient databases, receives and analyzes each user's initial Personal and health-related information to intelligently estimate his initial energy & nutrient budgets and physical activity needs; interactively constructs and presents to the user Personalized energy and nutrient content-based, location-based, activity-based, and event-based ranked available food item lists and recipes to encourage the user to be physically active and to consume food items containing the most needed nutrients; tracks the user food consumption, physical activity, updates to energy and nutrient budget balances, any physiological parameter measurements, any taken medication types, doses, and times, and any other external events which may cause changes to user-specific health-related variables; and automatically varies the types, rankings, and/or portions of the food items in the recommended available food item list based on the results of tracked activities.

    GLB™ Program [52]/NOW Trial Curriculum and Modifications for Genetic Testing Intervention Groups. Legend for Additional file 4. 1. The physical activity goal and references to fat grams were verbally modified in the “To Do” lists at the end of sessions. Participants were reminded about how response to different diets and physical activity for weight loss differ from person to person. Based on their Personalized genetic report, participants were advised and taught how to reach their Personal Nutrition and physical activity goals. This modification occurred throughout the GLB™ Program’s “To Do” lists and is not included in Additional file 4. 2. The GLB™ Curriculum begins in class 2. Class 1 allows for an overview of Nutrition and physical activity guidelines either based on [1] the Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Ranges and population-based health information and recommendations or [2] genetic-based information and recommendations. Refer to Additional files 2 and 3 for sample reports provided in class 1. 3.     Abstract:

    In Spring 2021, the librarian presenters partnered with Laura Bauer, a Nutrition faculty member, to teach students in introductory Nutrition classes information evaluation skills. The instructor\u27s assignment originally asked the class of non-science major students to find a recipe online that met a Personal Nutrition goal based on current recommendations. The assignment evolved for a class of pre-health science students into an evaluative assignment where students were asked to research a fad diet online and compare those findings with the scholarly literature, all while considering diet culture through a social justice lens. In this session we\u27ll discuss how the librarians and professor collaborated to create an assignment that incorporated the learning objectives of the course into a real-life scenario where students would be expected to critically evaluate information. Over our two-part library instruction session with the pre-health science majors, we introduced two evaluation methods to students in the class: SIFT (Stop, Investigate the source, Find trusted coverage, Trace the claims) and TRAP (Timeliness, Relevance, Authority, Purpose). We will explain these evaluation techniques and how they can be applied to evaluate various types of information. We will also discuss our plans to incorporate the fad diet assignment into courses for non-science majors in the fall, replacing the more basic recipe assignment
