The nature of the reducing agent (NaBH 4 , NH 3 BH 3 ) and the catalyst precursor (CoCl 2 ·6H 2 O, Co 3 O 4 ) was shown to have a substantial influence on the rate of hydrogen evolution. The effect of pH on the activity of the catalysts added to the solid-state pellets of sodium borohydride was estimated. It was found that the cobalt catalysts formed under the action of sodium borohydride undergo strong changes in an alkali medium due to boron leaching from cobalt boride and formation of low active Co 0 and Co(OH) 2 .

Al-mutabaganiAbstract:A series of novel ferrocenylimine complexes of platinum(II) ethene of general formula trans -[PtCl_2( η ^2-C_2H_4) (imine)], imine = N -alkyl-1-(ferrocen-1-yl)methanimine, (alkyl = Me; i -Pr, i -Bu, s -Bu, t -Bu, ±CH(Me)pH, CH_2pH and pH) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, i.r, ^1H-, ^13C-n.m.r. spectra (^15N- and ^195Pt-n.m.r. in part). Unusual coupling constants ^3 J (^195Pt—^1H), 92–98 Hz were observed between the imino proton H_6 and platinum(II) which are too large for three bond coupling constants, thereby suggesting a Pt↼H—C interaction.

Tetrahedron, 2010Co-Authors: Antonin Klasek, Antonin Lycka, Ivan Miksik, Ales RůžickaAbstract:Abstract 3-pHenyl-3-amino-1H,3H-quinoline-2,4-diones (1) react with alkyl or aryl isothiocyanates to give novel 9b-hydroxy-3a-pHenyl-1,2,3,3a-tetrahydro-2-thioxo-5H-imidazo[4,5-c]quinolin-4(9bH)-ones in high yields. These compounds rearrange in boiling acetic acid or concentrated hydrochloric acid to give novel 5-pHenyl-2-thioxospiro[4H-imidazol-4,3′-[3H]indol]-2′(1′H,3H)-ones, 5-hydroxy-5-pHenyl-2-thioxospiro[imidazolidine-4,3′-[3H]indol]-2′-ones and (2-methylaminopHenyl)-5-pHenyl-1H-imidazole-2(3H)-thiones. All compounds were characterized by their 1H, 13C, IR and MS data, and in some cases also by 15N NMR data. The structures and compositions of four compounds were confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction.

Skelton, Allan H WhiteAbstract:Abstract Syntheses, spectroscopic (IR, NMR and ESI MS) and single crystal X-ray structural characterizations are reported for a wide variety of adducts of Ag(oxyanion):dpem(:S) (1:1(: n )) 2 (oxyanion = ClO 4 , F 3 CCO 2 (tfa) F 3 CSO 3 (tfs); dpem = pH 2 E(CH 2 )EpH 2 ) stoichiometry among which the basic Ag(pH 2 E(CH 2 )EpH 2 ) 2 Ag core is diversely perturbed by interactions with anions and solvent molecules. ESI MS and 31 P NMR spectroscopy indicated that dinuclear species also exist in solution.
