    Abstract. Policy frameworks provide a technique for improving reuse in program analysis: the same language frontend, and a core analysis semantics, can be shared among multiple analysis policies for the same language, while analysis domains (such as units of measurement) can be shared among frameworks for different languages. One limitation of Policy frameworks is that, in practice, adding a new Policy can still require a significant level of knowledge about the internals of the semantics definition. This abstract describes work on extending Policy frameworks to solve this limitation, making policies reflective over their requirements and generating the Policy semantics from a higher-level Policy description language. Using executable language definitions, such as rewriting logic semantics [9] (RLS) or K [11] definitions running in Maude [4], program analysis can be treated as a form of non-standard program evaluation over appropriate domains of abstract values.   • An Analysis of Cybersecurity Legislation and Policy Creation on the State Level

    To best create an effective cybersecurity strategy, it is imperative to understand the Policy discussions and trends on a federal and state level. Effective cybersecurity legislation is vital to maintaining our country’s infrastructure and protecting our citizenry. Since cybersecurity is often decided on the state level, states need to be aware of the trends in cybersecurity legislation. The purpose of this research was to conduct an analysis of cybersecurity Policy from across the United States in an effort to assist the State-level understanding on their cybersecurity risk profile. This analysis included an examination of common trends in cybersecurity legislation. It involved researching cybersecurity policies from all 50 states and the federal government. After creating this baseline, the next phase of the research was to find and record relevant metadata for each Policy. This data contained additional data, such as did it pass, who were the supporters, was it revised and other information that is useful to cybersecurity Policy creators. The final goal of the research was to provide a searchable tool that could be utilized to fashion a successful cybersecurity bill and a summary of cybersecurity trends from 2011 to Spring 2018.

    Privacy for Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is required to gain the trust of those who would use the technology. Through the use of an independent Privacy Service (PS), the privacy policies of a service consumer and provider can be compared to create an agreed upon privacy contract. In this chapter, the authors further define a metamodel for privacy Policy Creation and comparison. A trust element is developed as an additional criterion for a privacy Policy. The authors define the PS, outline what operations it must perform to accomplish its goals, and present how the PS operates in different scenarios. They believe the PS, combined with the enhanced metamodel, provides a strong solution for providing privacy in an SOA environment.

  • Balancing the Roles of a Family Medicine Residency Faculty: A Grounded Theory Study.

    BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Great variety exists in the roles that family medicine residency faculty fill in the lives of their residents. A family medicine-specific model has never been created to describe and promote effective training relationships. This research aims to create a consensus model for faculty development, ethics education, and Policy Creation. METHODS Using a modified grounded theory methods, researchers conducted phone interviews with 22 key informants from US family medicine residencies. Data were analyzed to delineate faculty roles, common role conflicts, and ethical principles for avoiding and managing role conflicts. Key informants were asked to apply their experience and preferences to adapt an existing model to fit with family medicine residency settings. RESULTS The primary result of this research is the Creation of a family medicine-specific model that describes faculty roles and provides insight into how to manage role conflicts with residents. Primary faculty roles include Role Model, Advisor, Teacher, Supervisor, and Evaluator. Secondary faculty roles include Friendly Colleague, Wellness Supporter, and Helping Hand. The secondary roles exist on a continuum from disengaged to enmeshed. When not balanced, the secondary roles can detract from the primary roles. Differences were found between role expectations of physician versus behavioral science faculty and larger/university/urban residencies versus smaller/community/rural residencies. CONCLUSIONS Diversity of opinion exists related to the types of roles that are appropriate for family medicine faculty to maintain with residents. This new model is a first attempt to build consensus in the field and has application to faculty development, ethics education, and Policy Creation.

    This paper presents a Policy-based framework to approach the issue of autonomous reconfiguration management in heterogeneous networks. In contrast to existing Policy-based approaches, the proposed framework addresses the management issue from a new perspective through posing it as a problem of learning from current network behavior, while creating and updating policies dynamically in response to changing reconfiguration requirements, and this task is implemented by Reinforcement Learning methodology. A two-layer Policy model is used to mapping users and operators' higher level goals into network level objectives. The autonomic reconfiguration procedures for Policy Creation, storage, evaluation are also presented in detail. Illustrative examples analysis and simulation results demonstrate the performance of the proposed work
