Die sehr empfindlichen cyclischen Kationen 2 bzw. 3 solvolysieren leicht in Methanol ohne erkennbare Polonovski-Umlagerung. Isoxazolidine Compounds, XI: 2, 2-Dialkyl-3-aryl-5-oxoisoxazolidinium Salts: Cyclic Analogues of Polonovski Intermediates The 2-methyl-3-aryl-5-oxoisoxazolidines 1 are quaternized with “magic methyl” or triethyloxonium tetrafluoroborate, respectively. The very sensitive cations 2 and 3, respectively, undergo easily solvolysis in methanol without recognizable Polonovski Rearrangement.
