    Abstract:

    Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli selvittää Powershellin käyttömahdollisuuksia Microsoftin Windows Server 2012 –palvelinkäyttöjärjestelmän ja aktiivihakemiston hallinnassa. Palvelimen ja aktiivihakemiston hallinta työssä on pääosin pyritty suorittamaan muodostamalla etäyhteys toimialueen ulkopuolisesta koneesta palvelimelle. Powershell on Microsoftin komentorivipohjainen työkalu Windows –käyttöjärjestelmien hallintaan. Sen tehtävänä on helpottaa ja tehostaa järjestelmänhallintaa paikallisesti ja etänä. Työssä esitellään yleisesti Powershell –komentotyökalu, perehdytään työkalun historiaan, käyttöliittymään, käyttökohteisiin, ISE –skriptienhallintatyökaluun ja tärkeimpiin komentoihin. Windows Server 2012 on Microsoftin kuudes julkaisu kehittämästään palvelinkäyttöjärjestelmästä. Työssä on esitelty palvelimen keskeisimmät ominaisuudet, historia, roolit ja käyttöliittymät. Lisäksi perehdyttiin aktiivihakemiston käyttöön ja ominaisuuksiin. Käytännön osuudessa asennettiin palvelimeen Windows Server 2012 –käyttöjärjestelmä ja muodostettiin siihen etäyhteys Powershellillä. Palvelinroolien hallinnan ja toimialueen luomisen lisäksi osuudessa käsiteltiin organisaatioyksiköiden ja käyttäjätilien hallintaa aktiivihakemistossa. Opinnäytetyön tuloksena todettiin Powershellin olevan hyvä järjestelmätyökalu helpottamaan Windows-palvelimen ja aktiivihakemiston hallintaa etänä ja paikallisesti. Lisäksi havaittiin, että suurin hyöty laajassa ympäristössä saadaan luomalla ja suorittamalla skriptejä. Lähteinä on käytetty kirjallisia lähteitä sekä verkkojulkaisuja.The purpose of this Bachelor thesis was to clarify Powershell use of opportunities in Microsoft Windows Server 2012 -operating system and in active directory management. Server and active directory management in this thesis is mainly executed by making remote control outside of domain from workstation to server. Powershell is Microsoft Command line tool for Windows operating system management. Its purpose is to make easier and optimize the system management locally and remotely. In this thesis Powershell Command line prompt tool is generally introduced, is familiarized of its history, interface, use, ISE –scripting management tool and most important Commands. Windows Server 2012 is the sixth release of server structure which Microsoft has made. This thesis presents the main features of server, the history, roles and user interfaces. Furthermore active directory usage and preferences has examined. The practical part includes the installation of the server operating system and making the remote connection by Powershell. Regarding the server roles management and domain creating there is also handle organizational units and user account management in active directory. The result of this bachelor’s thesis was that Powershell tool is a good system to facili-tate the Windows server and active directory management remotely and locally.     Ubrzanim razvojem tehnologija i načinom života, korisnici zahtjevaju pristup informacijama u bilo kojem trenutku i na bilo kojem mjestu. Rješenje korisničkih zahtjeva je računalna infrastruktura u oblaku. Operativni sustav Windows Server 2012 R2 razvijen je u smjeru virtualizacije fizičkih poslužitelja i uštedi resursa, dok je operativni sustav Windows Server 2016 razvijen u smjeru pružanja usluga iz oblaka korištenjem Docker tehnologije. U ovom radu prikazana je usporedba operativnog sustava Windows Server 2012 R2 i operativnog sustava Windows Server 2016. Navedene su nove mogućnosti uloga operativnog sustava Windows Server 2016, kao što je Hyper-V virtualna platforma koja upravlja virtualnim poslužiteljima. Prikazani su unaprijeđeni alati operativnog sustava Windows Server 2016 kao što je Powershell komandna linija koja omogućuje automatsko administriranje poslužitelja. Objašnjene su novosti operativnog sustava Windows Server 2016 kao što su kontejneri sa aplikacijama kojima se upravlja sa Docker tehnologijom, te u konačnici, rezultat usporedbe navedenih operativnih sustava.With accelerated development of technology and lifestyle, users require access to information at any time and in any place. Solution to user requierments is cloud computing infrastructure. The Windows Server 2012 R2 operating system is developed in the direction of virtual server virtualization and resource savings while the Windows Server 2016 operating system is developed in the direction of providing cloud services using Docker technology. This paper presents a comparison of the Windows Server 2012 R2 operating system and the Windows Server operating system 2016. New features of the Windows Server 2016 operating system roles are described, such as the Hyper-V virtual platform that manages virtual servers. Enhanced tools of the Windows Server 2016 operating system are explained, such as the Powershell Command line, which enables automatic server administration. The Windows Server 2016 operating system news are explained, such as Docker-controlled containers with applications, and finally a comparison of the operating systems mentioned above

    Tämän opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli Windows To Go -ominaisuuden esittely, käyttöönotto, hallinnointi lähiverkossa sekä etänä ja tietoturvallinen käyttö eri ympäristöissä. Opinnäytetyön toimeksiantajana toimi Puolustusvoimien tutkimuslaitos PVTUTKL. Toimeksiantaja toivoi lisäselvitystä työ-asemalle, joka on tietoturvallinen sekä liikkuva. Työaseman tulee olla helposti käyttöönotettavissa esimerkiksi ulkomaan komennuksilla, joissa henkilökohtaiset kannettavat eivät ole kustannustehokas ja mobiili ratkaisu. Työasemaa ei sijoiteta organisaation toimialueelle ja toimii näin tietoturvallisena internetkoneena. Opinnäytetyössä käydään läpi projektin tavoitteet ja tehtävät, sekä käsitellään toiminnon kehityksen kannalta keskeisiä asioita. Esitellään Windows To Go -ominaisuus ja erot tyypillisen Windows-asennuksen kanssa, järjestelmävaatimukset sekä yritysominaisuudet. Toiminnallisessa osassa perehdytään Windows To Go USB-muistin käyttöönottoon eri menetelmillä. Opinnäytetyössä pilotoiduissa USB-muisteissa käyttöönottoon käytettiin ”Microsoft SCCM -hallinnointiohjelmaa”, ”Windows To Go Creator Wizard” sekä ”Windows Powershell -komentotulkki ohjelmaa”. Työssä pohditaan eri ratkaisuja tietoturvalliseen etähallinnointiin ja asemien päivittämiseen ulkoisissa, sekä sisäisissä verkoissa. Lopuksi käydään läpi mahdollisia tietoturva ratkaisuja Windows To Go -ominaisuudelle ja näiden toteuttamista. Lopputuloksena toteutettiin WTG -ominaisuuden käyttöönottopilotointi kolmella eri menetelmällä. Projektin tavoitteet saavutettiin ja asennusmediat olivat toimivia. Ominaisuuden kehitystyötä on mahdollista jatkaa annetuilla esimerkeillä ennen varsinaista käyttöönottoa.The purpose of this thesis was to introduce the Windows to Go feature, its deployment and administration in the local network as well as remote access and secure use in different environments. The Finnish Defence Research Agency FDRA was the commissioner of this thesis. The commissioner wanted further research on a workstation that was to be both secure and mobile. The workstation needed to be easily deployed and used for example abroad, where personal laptops are not a cost effective or mobile solution. The workstation was not to be stationed in the organizations local area network but it was to work as a secure internet machine. In this thesis, I go through the goals and tasks of the project, and cover the crucial points in the development of the feature. I go through the fundamentals with the Windows to Go feature as well as the differences there compared to a typical Windows workstation. I also cover system requirements to run Windows to Go and its enterprise features. In the empirical part I introduce Windows to Go USB flash drive deployment with multiple methods. In the thesis project the deployment of Windows to Go was piloted using “Microsoft SCCM configuration manager”, ”Windows to Go Creator Wizard” and “Windows Powershell Command-line utility”. In this paper I go through different options for a secure remote access, such as VPN and DirectAccess. Lastly, I go through possible information security steps for Windows to Go and how to put these into practice. As a result, the deployment of the WTG feature was piloted using three different methods. The objectives in the project were achieved, and the deployment medias were functional. The development of the feature can be prolonged with the given examples, before proper deployment

    Tämä työ on tehty Appelsiini Finland Oy:n toimeksiannosta. Opinnäytetyön tarkoitus oli tehostaa Appelsiini Finland Oy:n asiakkaita Office 365 –palvelun hallinnassa. Opinnäytetyön aiheena oli luoda kattava ohjeistus toimeksiantajalle Microsoft Office 365 palvelun hallinnasta Windows Powershell-komentotulkkia hyödyntäen. Tässä työssä keskityttiin Microsoftin tarjontaan yrityksille, mutta Office 365 on myös saatavilla erikseen julkishallinnoille, voittoa tavoittelemattomille yhteisöille sekä kotikäyttäjille. Teoriaosuudessa kerrotaan yleisesti Windows Powershell-komentotulkista ja sen käyttömahdollisuuksista. Powershell käyttää neljää eri komentotyyppiä. Näitä eri komentotyyppejä ovat: cmdlet-komennot, komentosarjakomennot, funktiokomennot ja käyttöjärjestelmän natiivikomennot. Näistä komentotyypeistä työssä eniten käytettiin cmdlet-komentoja. Käytännönosuudessa on esitetty erilaisia käyttötapauksia ja esimerkkejä Office 365 –palvelun hallintaan liittyen sekä kerrottu mitä hyötyjä Powershellillä hallittaessa on verrattuna Office 365 portaaliin. Työssä keskitytään toimeksiantajan ilmoittamiin Office 365 –palvelun osa-aluesisiin, joihin ohjeistusta tarvittiin. Näitä osa-alueita oli käyttäjien hallinta, postilaatikoiden hallinta, ryhmähallinta sekä raportointi.This bachelor’s thesis is assigned by Appelsiini Finland Oy. The purpose of this study was to offer the customers of Appelsiini more efficient administration of the Microsoft Office 365 -service. The goal of this thesis was to create a comprehensive user manual for the Microsoft Office 365 service management with utilizing the Windows Powershell Command prompt. Windows Powershell is developed by Microsoft and it can be used in Windows environment to perform automated tasks. Office 365 is Microsoft’s cloud service which is a mix of server solutions and productivity services. Microsoft offers a variety of service plans to Office 365. This thesis focuses on Microsoft’s offers for businesses, but Office 365 is also available separately for public sectors, non-profit organizations as well as home users.
