    Abstract:

    In the mid 1990s UK digital Preservation Activity concentrated on ensuring the survival of digital material – spurred on by the US report Preserving Digital Information (The Task Force on Archiving of Digital Information, 1996) and developed through JISC-funded activities. Technical developments and a maturing understanding of organisational Activity and workflow saw the emphasis move to ensuring the access, use and reuse of digital materials throughout their lifecycle. Digital Curation emerged as a new discipline supported through the activities of the UK’s Digital Curation Centre and a number of EU 6th Framework Projects. Digital Curation is now embedded in both practice and research; with the development of tools, and the foundation of a number of support units and academic educators offering training and furthering research.

    Abstract:

    The Libraries and Information Technology Services at the Pennsylvania State University are in the process of developing a service architecture for supporting digital curation and Preservation Activity at the university. This system, called Curation Architecture Prototype Services (CAPS), is built on the micro-services approach to digital curation pioneered by the California Digital Library. The paper details methods and philosophies related to metadata development for this system, and how those methods align with the general approach of the micro-services model. The current state of production of this architecture is detailed, along with future metadata services to be embedded in the system, and how those services will be deployed in collaboration with its stakeholders.

    The SPRUCE Project has applied community oriented approaches to support and sustain digital Preservation Activity. An emphasis on practitioner requirements and focused agile development has enabled the updating and refinement of key digital Preservation toolsets that meet user needs. The capture and sharing of these requirements has provided a detailed snapshot of current curation practice, providing insight into practical practitioner needs for those able to fund and support tool and service development. A variety of collaborative initiatives have developed online resources and forums for supporting digital Preservation Activity. SPRUCE has begun constructing a toolset to support managers and practitioners in making the case to fund and sustain digital Preservation Activity. As SPRUCE enters its final half year, this paper provides an outline of key achievements as well as thoughts on the effectiveness (or otherwise) of some of the more innovative or unconventional approaches taken by the Project

    Abstract:

    The bookstores have the same products, prospective buyers in selling books and the location of the bookstores in front of Jatinangor highway. This research analys in the marketing strategy to understanding the differences the bookstores. In this research used qualitative research methods through a case study approach to managers the bookstores. The results of this research analysed the product that had differenced in the type of book to the sold. The bookstores still uses print promotion media, print media,  and online media. They sells the book in a cheap price in the price because it is source from the publisher. The third bookstores in the marketing to products from the directof the bookstores. The managers bookstore try to establish communication with buyers and to understanding needs to buyer. The process in the purchase direct in the bookstores and undirect with online media. The structuring in the room and Preservation Activity service became model manage in the form of physical from the third bookstores. Based on the analysis this results, the people or manager the bookstores become the factors in the activate marketing strategy at the bookstores. This is model 1 P TOP, that factor in the people influence to product, promotion, price, place, process dan physical evidence.
