Extraction of Biolubricants from Agricultural
2010Co-Authors: Busayo Opeyemi AdeosunAbstract:This project investigates the extraction of biolubricants from agricultural products jatropha seeds. The oilseeds were processed by mechanical extraction technique. To meet the need of small scale oil processors, a locally fabricated manual screw Press at affordable price was design and fabricated. The components of the Press are the cross bar, screw, Press Cylinder, Press plate, collection try and the base. The machine was used to extract oil from jatopha seeds at the following various moisture contents; 3.1%, 4.52%, 5.65%, and temperatures of 100oc, 110oc, 120oc. The machine highest efficiency is at 58.9%, moisture content 4.52% and at 110oc. The oils extracted from the oil seed will then be analyzed for the properties of a lubricant.

Design of the two pillar Press for direct extrusion
Západočeská univerzita v Plzni, 2018Co-Authors: Pompl JanAbstract:Bakalářská práce se zabývá popisem hydraulických vytlačovacích lisů a vytlačovacími procesy. Druhá část obsahuje návrh a technické výpočty hlavního hydraulického pohonu. Navržený model je zkontrolován a upraven pomocí metody konečných prvků.ObhájenoBachelor thesis deals with description of hydraulic extrusion Presses and extrusion processes. The second section contains design and technical calculations of the main hydraulic Press Cylinder. Designed model is checked and improved by finite element method

Development of an unconventional electro-hydraulic proportional valve with fuzzy-logic controller for hydraulic Presses
The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2005Co-Authors: J.-c. Renn, C. TsaiAbstract:In this study, an unconventional electro-hydraulic proportional flow control valve based on a switching solenoid and a fuzzy-logic controller is proposed for application to hydraulic Presses. The main purpose of this study is the attempt to develop an electro-hydraulic proportional flow control valve with lowest cost. Since the switching solenoid possesses quite nonlinear force/stroke characteristics, it is basically not suitable for the development of hydraulic proportional valves. Therefore, the fuzzy-logic controller is employed to linearize the force/stroke characteristics. The basic idea is the utilization of the numerically estimated pseudo-force as the feedback signal. Finally, this newly developed electro-hydraulic proportional flow control valve is installed in a hydraulic Press. Experimental results show that the control of the ram velocity of the Press Cylinder using the proposed electro-hydraulic proportional flow control valve is quite successful.

A failure analysis study on the fractured connecting bolts of a filter Press
Published by Elsevier Ltd., 2015Co-Authors: Sh. Molaei, Alizadeh R., Attarian M., Jaferian Y.Abstract:AbstractThe purpose of this study was to investigate the main causes of the co-fracture of sixteen connecting bolts of a filter Press Cylinder–piston system. Stress state of the bolts during the service conditions has been analyzed and the failure reasons were determined from the fractography analysis and gathered information. According to the obtained results, it was concluded that the bolts had failed by the fatigue mechanism. It seems that insufficient torque was used during assembly
