    Abstract:

    Background. Sexual health is more than the absence of disease and infection, it is about a state of physical, emotional, and social wellbeing in relationship to sexuality. High risk adolescents (ethnical minorities and adolescents with low social economical positions) are the most vulnerable when it comes to different aspects that are an influence on sexual health. The nationwide available Sense program offers sexual aids for adolescents under the age of 25, with the use of eHealth technology. Goal. The goal of this research is to develop the Primary and secondary Persona’s and matching use-case scenarios for the potential SMS service and virtual coaching for sexual education and/or prevention. Persona’s and use-case scenarios are used to develop technology that optimally fits the behavior and lifestyle of high risk adolescents, with the goal to improve the implementation and adoption of new technology. Method. Analysis of transcripts of four focus groups of high risk adolescents (n=39), literature and complementary questionnaires are used to develop the Persona’s and use-case scenarios’. This process is a part of the pre-design phase of the CeHRes (Center for eHealth Research) roadmap. During this phase, needs and requirements of the potential users are translated into concrete scenarios. Results. Ethnicity plays a major part in the Primary Persona, and religion in the secondary Persona. Some of the important requirements that recur in both Persona’s and use-case scenarios for the use of SMS service and virtual coaching are that the application has to be: anonymous, reliable, legitimate, interactive, professional, attractive, accessible via a smartphone, simple, clear and quick in communication, and free of charge. Discussion. It is of cultural and gender dependence whether high risk adolescents can talk about sexuality and which information is desired. The choice between virtual coaching and SMS service to ask questions anonymously depends on the available technology. Conclusion. High risk adolescents have a positive attitude towards virtual coaching and SMS service, when it comes to asking questions about sex, love, and relationships. Important to note is that adolescents prefer to choose their own preferences and settings, and they experience communication via such services as if they talk to a “real” caregiver/person.

    [FIGURE 1 OMITTED] In Bellocqs Ophelia, Natasha Trethewey gives voice to the African American sex workers living in New Orleans' Storyville, a legalized red-light district, in the early 1900s. This volume of poetry is based on photographs by Ernest J. Bellocq, a commercial photographer who took a remarkable series of photographs of women most likely working in Willie Piazza's or Lulu White's "octoroon" brothels. Trethewey creates a composite character as the volume's Primary Persona and uses her to envision the aspects of her life that transcend the written histories and recorded images. She is a conflation of many of Bellocq's subjects: the woman pictured above who is reminiscent of John Everett Millais's Ophelia, a woman visiting a fellow sex worker dying from venereal disease, a scantily clad woman enjoying a drink of rye, a pensive woman formally dressed in pearls and feathers, a nude woman awkwardly arching her back. By naming her Ophelia, Trethewey participates in the tradition of recovering mythic female figures denied a voice, what Alicia Suskin Ostriker has called "revisionary mythmaking" (212). Like Gloria Naylor in Mama Day, Trethewey chooses Shakespeare's Ophelia to redeem. Instead of insanity and death, Trethewey's Ophelia is given a voice with which to recount lost American history. The poems think through the photographs, practicing Trethewey's idea quoted in the epigram that "if you look at a photograph, if you really study the gestures and expressions that the people have in the photograph, you could see the rest of their lives, everything that's to come." In doing so, the poetry considers the historical setting of southern African American women in the early twentieth century, working-class women's labor, and the act of looking. The 2007 winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for her third book Native Guard, Trethewey is fulfilling the promise Trudier Harris and Opal J. Moore identified when they each included her in their compendia of rising women writers to watch in the twenty-first century (Harris 235; Moore 346-47). She has also received acclaim from Rita Dove, who chose Trethewey's first volume of poetry, Domestic Work, for the Cave Canem Prize in the first year it was awarded and who wrote the introduction for that collection, designating Trethewey "a young poet in full possession of her craft" (xii). As well as participating in Cave Canem, Trethewey is part of the Dark Room Collective, a community of poets including Sharon Strange, Thomas Sayers Ellis, Major Jackson, and Kevin Young, and her work is well represented in anthologies like Young's Giant Steps: The New Generation of African American Writers. Reviewers of all three of her volumes comment on the life she brings to historical photographs, her complex examination of racial identity, and the authenticity of her voice. Likewise, they praise the fluidity of her language, her intricate use of poetic forms, and the lyrical beauty of her verse. Reviewing Bellocq's Ophelia in some depth, Sarah Kennedy writes that "spare and elegant, Bellocq's Ophelia is not the tale of Storyville that American historians and popular culture have led us to see as its 'truth,' but that is much of Trethewey's point" (162). She comments particularly on Trethewey's usurpation of power as she gives Ophelia a camera of her own with which to capture her world. V. M. Kouidis is particularly interested in Trethewey's use of art and how art is complicit in Ophelia's victimization. Kouidis writes that "as genre criticism and as historiography, 'Ophelia' participates in the cultural and ethical criticism that has superseded French theory" (iii). Literary and art critics Debora Rindge and Anna Leahy explore the intertextuality between Trethewey's poetic narrative and Bellocq's photographs, examining in detail the relationships between poems and particular photographs (291-92). These scholars, and Trethewey herself in two in-depth interviews with Charles Henry Rowell and David Haney, have opened the critical discussion about her poetry, and this article is at the very beginning of the scholarly attention Trethewey will no doubt receive. …

    Abstract Background Preoperative planning is important to achieve successful implantation in Primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA). However, traditional TKA templating techniques are not accurate enough to predict the component size to a very close range. Methods With the goal of developing a general predictive statistical model using patient demographic information, ordinal logistic regression was applied to build a proportional odds model to predict the tibia component size. The study retrospectively collected the data of 1992 Primary Persona Knee System TKA procedures. Of them, 199 procedures were randomly selected as testing data and the rest of the data were randomly partitioned between model training data and model evaluation data with a ratio of 7:3. Different models were trained and evaluated on the training and validation data sets after data exploration. Results The final model had patient gender, age, weight, and height as independent variables and predicted the tibia size within 1 size difference 96% of the time on the validation data, 94% of the time on the testing data, and 92% on a prospective cadaver data set. Conclusion The study results indicated the statistical model built by ordinal logistic regression can increase the accuracy of tibia sizing information for Persona Knee preoperative templating. This research shows statistical modeling may be used with radiographs to dramatically enhance the templating accuracy, efficiency, and quality. In general, this methodology can be applied to other TKA products when the data are applicable.
