This paper presents a virtual machine mapping policy based on multi-resource load balancing. It uses the resource consumption of the running virtual machine and the self-adaptive weighted approach, which resolves the load balancing conflicts of each independent resource caused by different demand for resources of Cloud applications. Meanwhile, it uses probability approach to ease the problem of load crowding in the concurrent users scene. The experiments and comparative analysis show that this policy achieves the better effect than existing approach.

Online Multi-User Workflow Scheduling Algorithm for Fairness and Energy Optimization
2020Co-Authors: Emile Cadorel, Hélène Coullon, Jean-marc MenaudAbstract:This article tackles the problem of scheduling multiuser scientific workflows with unpredictable random arrivals and uncertain task execution times in a Cloud Environment from the Cloud provider point of view. The solution consists in a deadline sensitive online algorithm, named NEARDEADLINE, that optimizes two metrics: the energy consumption and the fairness between users. Scheduling workflows in a Private Cloud Environment is a difficult optimization problem as capacity constraints must be fulfilled additionally to dependencies constraints between tasks of the workflows. Furthermore, NEARDEADLINE is built upon a new workflow execution platform. As far as we know no existing work tries to combine both energy consumption and fairness metrics in their optimization problem. The experiments conducted on a real infrastructure (clusters of Grid'5000) demonstrate that the NEARDEADLINE algorithm offers real benefits in reducing energy consumption, and enhancing user fairness.

As grandes empresas já migraram seus sistemas para a nuvem em busca de seus benefícios. O modelo de negócios de computação em nuvem conta desde a hospedagem e utilização de infraestruturas públicas na internet até a criação de uma própria infraestrutura de nuvem, dentro as instalações da organização em um modelo chamado de nuvem privada. Com a criação de um Polo de Tecnologia de Informação o Exército Brasileiro também entende que a migração para um ambiente de nuvem pode permitir melhorar a oferta de serviços aos seus clientes internos, modernizando sua infraestrutura. Dada a sensibilidade do negócio do Exército entende-se que a necessidade de modernização deve ser alinhada ao modelo de nuvem privada desenvolvida em seus próprios centros de dados. Existem no mercado diversas soluções, proprietárias e de código aberto, que oferecem a possibilidade de criar uma nuvem privada. Mas a questão principal é o que fazer com os sistemas que estão em ambiente tradicional? Assim este estudo pretende compreender as necessidades e benefícios da utilização de uma nuvem privada, bem como oferecer uma proposta de modelo de migração de seus sistemas que estão hospedados em um modelo tradicional para um ambiente de nuvem privada. Durante o estudo serão alinhados estudos relativos á migração para nuvem com as características de negócio do Exército. Ao final do trabalho é realizada uma prova de conceito, onde é realizada a criação de um ambiente de nuvem privada e a migração de um sistema hospedado em ambiente tradicional virtualizado para esta nuvem. ___________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTCloud computing is no longer a myth for organizations, on the contrary.
