  • all optical virtual Private Network in passive optical Networks
    Laser & Photonics Reviews, 2008
Co-Authors: Yue Tian, Elaine Wong, Nishaanthan Nadarajah, Calvin Chun-kit Chan
    Abstract:

We review recent progress on all-optical virtual-Private-Network (VPN) schemes in passive optical Networks (PONs). PON is a promising candidate in future access areas to provide broadband services with low cost. With all-optical virtual Private Network (VPN) function, PON can support efficient interNetworking among end users with dedicated optical channels, thus enabling guaranteed bandwidth and enhanced security at the physical layer. Here, we discuss and compare existing schemes of all-optical VPNs in time-division-multiplexed (TDM) PONs, and also recently proposed schemes for deployment in wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) PONs and two-stage TDM/WDM PONs.

  • demonstration and scalability analysis of all optical virtual Private Network in multiple passive optical Networks using ask fsk format
    IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2007
    Co-Authors: Yue Tian
    Abstract:

We present a scalable all-optical virtual Private Network (VPN) in a two-stage passive optical Network (PON) architecture to connect optical Network units (ONUs) in different sub-PONs. It provides efficient access and VPN service covering a wider area. The scheme employs amplitude-shift keying/frequency-shift keying (FSK) orthogonal modulation formats, which are used for the VPN and upstream traffic at 625 Mb/s and 5 Gb/s, respectively. At the optical line terminal side, a fiber Bragg grating reflects one of the two frequency components in the FSK signal back to the ONUs in a same VPN. Using a bidirectional amplifier, the power budget and the scalability of the Network are significantly improved, as evidenced by numerical analysis using the parameters in the experiment.

  • Model Komunikasi Sensor Curah Hujan Menggunakan Virtual Private Network Berbasis Cloud VPS
Program Studi Teknik Informatika FTI-UKSW, 2019
    Co-Authors: Sakti, Ilham Anggoro
    Abstract:

Management and supervision of rainfall sensors is not an easy thing, because the placement of a strategic sensor for rainfall data collection makes it difficult for admins to manually manage and monitor the collected data. The development of the VPS cloud-based communication model in this study is expected to be able to overcome the problem of management and supervision in the rainfall sensor admin. The cloud vps system is chosen because this system can temporarily accommodate rainfall sensor data synchronized with the cloud vps system and the admin server can easily access rainfall sensors through the built-in Private Network between cloud virtual Private server and admin servers and rainfall sensors. In this study researchers used Scaleway (cloud virtual Private server) located on the Dutch server, OpenVPN for the construction of a Private Network Network, and Linux Rsync tools to synchronize data on rainfall sensors with data on the cloud server

  • Toward IP virtual Private Network quality of service: a service provider perspective
    IEEE Communications Magazine, 2003
    Co-Authors: Jingdi Zeng, Nirwan Ansari
    Abstract:

To complement classical enterprise wide area Network infrastructures, IP (based) virtual Private Networks have been gaining ground, with the capability of offering cost-effective, secure, and Private-Network-like services. In order to provision the equivalent quality of service of legacy connection-oriented layer 2 virtual Private Networks (VPNs), IP VPNs have to overcome the intrinsically best effort characteristics of the Internet in this multimedia era. This article discusses the IP VPN quality of service (QoS) issue from a service provider point of view, where QoS guarantees are carried out at the Network level as well as at the node level. It presents the whole picture by highlighting and stitching together various QoS enabling technologies from previous research and engineering work.
