Pioneered by Albert J. Reiss, Jr. in the 1960s, systematic social observation is a field research method simultaneously gathering quantitative and qualitative data in a natural setting. Data collection procedures are stipulated in advance reducing bias and allowing for scientific inference, replication, and measurable Process outcomes as the observations recorded are independent of the observer. Although three large scale studies have been conducted in the United States to understand police behaviour, this ‘gold standard’ is used infrequently due to methodological challenges in an applied setting. The current research is the first sole observer and non-U.S. study conducted with a Canadian regional police service. Discussion of methodological innovation, challenges, and Process are based on the experience of collecting data on 406 police–citizen encounters involving 568 citizens over 637 observational hours. To assist future researchers, the method and data collection using modified instruments as well as the challenges of resources, police cooperation, bias, reactivity, field role, and dynamics of conducting research as a female in an insular, male-dominated setting are explored. Little is known about its implementation across large tertiary referral hospitals. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation of clinical supervision across several different nursing specialities at a teaching hospital in Sydney, Australia. Using a model of nursing implementation science, a Process was developed at the study site that facilitated the development, implementation and evaluation of the project. After a 6-month study period, the CS groups were postevaluated using a survey tool developed for the project. A total of nine CS groups were in operation over the 6-month study period. A predominant focus within the sessions was one of the collegial support and developing standards of practice. The Process was able to achieve wide hospital-based support for the role of CS from the senior nurse executives to junior nurses. Whilst there was overall positive support for the CS groups, logistical and resource challenges remain, in the effective roll out of CS to large numbers of nurses.

Aplicación de la metodología Last Planner System en la cadena de suministros para la disminución de costos operativos en obras de edificación de mediana altura en el distrito de Trujillo 2015

Por medio del método a juicio de expertos obtuvimos que la mejor construcción de mediana altura que se adecuaba al mejor y practico utilización de la metodología es edificio Residencial PARQUE III .A partir de entrevistas a profundidad realizadas a la encargada del área logística y al residente de obra, se recolecto los datos necesarios para determinar el proceso logístico que realizaba la empresa antes mencionada, también se realizó observaciones directas en obra, en la que se pudo observar el proceso de suministro que realiza la empresa. Para el desarrollo de la tesis se uso la metodología Last Planner System® sus aspectos teóricos fueron desarrollados y estudiados a lo largo de la tesis. En base a los cuales se planteó una metodología de implementación que se aplicó por un período de 9 semanas y 2 días. Los resultados obtenidos nos demuestran la importancia del compromiso del equipo de obra y del soporte de la empresa para la implementación. De esta forma se identificaron diversos desafíos que se enfrentan al realizar una implementación de este tipo y la retroalimentación que el propio sistema genera para la mejora continua. Los resultados obtenidos para la mejora del proceso Logístico producto de la aplicación del Last Planner System (Sistema del Último Planificador), significo un ahorro del 23.70% comparado los costos operativos del proceso logístico tradicional de la empresa en estudio con los costos operativos del proceso logístico de nuestra propuesta.This work had as main objective to lower operating costs by at least 5% of the works of medium altitude of the District of Trujillo 2015.
