  • Microscale chiral HPLC in support of pharmaceutical Process Research.
    Chirality, 2009
    Co-Authors: Christopher J. Welch
    Abstract:

Some recent developments in the use of microscale chiral HPLC for supporting pharmaceutical Process Research are reviewed, including multiparallel high throughput analysis to support high throughput experimentation studies, rapid multiparallel chromatographic method development, and on-line reaction monitoring. Green chemistry advantages of the approach include greatly reduced solvent consumption, waste generation, and stationary phase requirement relative to conventional chiral HPLC.

  • Adsorbent Screening for Metal Impurity Removal in Pharmaceutical Process Research
Organic Process Research & Development, 2005
Co-Authors: Christopher J. Welch, Jennifer Albaneze-walker, William R. Leonard, Mirlinda Biba, Jimmy O. Dasilva, Derek W. Henderson, Brian Laing, David J. Mathre, Sandra Spencer
    Abstract:

A microtube screening approach affords simple and convenient assessment of the selective adsorption of metal impurities by a variety of different Process adsorbents. This approach is helpful in identifying rapid solutions to metal impurity problems in pharmaceutical Process Research. Several examples illustrating the utility of the approach are presented.

  • strategy Process Research focusing on corporate self renewal
    Southern Medical Journal, 1992
    Co-Authors: Balaji S. Chakravarthy, Yves L. Doz
    Abstract:

In this introduction to the Special Issue on Strategy Process Research the guest editors suggest that the future Research in this subfieid should be more holistic, emphasize more team work, focus more on corporate managers and be more supportive of action Research methodologies. This introductory essay also reviews briefly the important contributions to date of strategy Process Research and provides a short summary of the papers that were selected for the special issue.

  • chemical Process Research and development in the 21st century challenges strategies and solutions from a pharmaceutical industry perspective
    Accounts of Chemical Research, 2009
    Co-Authors: Hansjuergen Federsel
    Abstract:

In Process Research and development (PR&D), the generation and manipulation of small-molecule drugs ranges from bench-scale (laboratory) chemistry to pilot plant manufacture to commercial production. A broad range of disciplines, including Process chemistry (organic synthesis), analytical chemistry, Process engineering (mass and heat transfer, unit operations), Process safety (chemical risk assessment), regulatory compliance, and plant operation, must be effectively applied. In the critical handover between medicinal chemistry and PR&D, compound production is typically scaled up from a few hundred grams to several kilograms. Can the methodologies applied to the former also satisfy the technical, safety, and scalability aspects that come into play in the latter? Occasionally, the transition might occur smoothly, but more often the situation is the opposite: much work and resources must be invested to design a Process that is feasible for manufacturing on pilot scale and, eventually, for commercial producti...

  • Strategy-Process Research: What Have We Learned and What Is Still to Be Explored
    Journal of Management, 2006
    Co-Authors: Thomas Hutzschenreuter, Ingo Kleindienst
    Abstract:

This article attempts to reflect the current state and progress of strategy-Process Research. Based on a literature review, an integrative framework is developed encompassing key antecedents, Process and outcome factors, and the interrelationship among them. The review reveals that strategy-Process Research has made considerable progress in the past, shifting the focus from strategic planning to new areas, thereby emphasizing the exposed position of the individuals involved. The authors recommend that Researchers conduct more studies that explore the effects of the individuals involved in strategy Processes and the phases prior to and after the actual decision making.
