  • Smash Products for Secondary Homotopy Groups
    Applied Categorical Structures, 2008
    Co-Authors: Hans-joachim Baues, Fernando Muro
    Abstract:

We construct a smash Product Operation on secondary homotopy groups yielding the structure of a lax symmetric monoidal functor. Applications on cup-one Products, Toda brackets and Whitehead Products are considered.

  • Smash Products for secondary homotopy groups
    Applied Categorical Structures, 2007
    Co-Authors: Hans-joachim Baues, Fernando Muro
    Abstract:

We construct a smash Product Operation on secondary homotopy groups yielding the structure of a lax symmetric monoidal functor. Applications on cup-one Products, Toda brackets and Whitehead Products are considered. In particular we prove a formula for the crossed effect of the cup-one Product Operation on unstable homotopy groups of spheres which was claimed by Barratt-Jones-Mahowald.

  • A computational model of early vision based on synchronized response and inner Product Operation
    Neurocomputing, 2010
Co-Authors: Zhao Songnian, Jin Zhen, Yao Guozheng
    Abstract:

A new early-vision complete computational model is proposed in this paper, which mainly based on probabilistic reasoning for visual information processing and combination of the synchronized response with the sparse representation. The model consists of multi-scale filtering, phase synchronization and inner Product Operations, in which the spatial localization, orientation and band-pass characteristics of the functional columns distributed in the cortex V1 can respond to local features in image patches, which obtained from division of retinal image by means of orthogonally divided into image patches according to the size of the receptive field of a ganglion cell. Theoretical analysis and simulated results show that at the system level, the model reflects the nature of the excitation of neurons in the V1 cortex by local characteristics of the external stimuli. Therefore, it may be having some use as a reference in investigations of neural mechanisms in visual information processing.

  • a novel hybrid tobacco Product that delivers a tobacco flavour note with vapour aerosol part 1 Product Operation and preliminary aerosol chemistry assessment
    Food and Chemical Toxicology, 2017
Co-Authors: Simon Poynton, Joseph Peter Sutton, Sharon Goodall, Jennifer Margham, Mark Forster, Ken Scott, Chuan Liu, Kevin Mcadam, James Murphy, Christopher Proctor
    Abstract:

Abstract Vapour Products have demonstrated potential to be a lower-risk alternative to cigarettes. The present study describes a novel hybrid tobacco Product that combines a warm aerosol stream generated by an electronic vaporisation mechanism with tobacco top flavour from cut tobacco. During Operation, the aerosol stream released from the vapour cartomiser is passed through a bed of blended cut tobacco by the puffing flow, elevating the tobacco temperature and eluting volatile tobacco flavour components. A preliminary but comprehensive analysis of the aerosol composition of the hybrid tobacco Product found that emissions were dominated by the control vapour formulation. In non-targeted chemical screening, no detectable difference in GC scans was observed between the hybrid tobacco Product and the control vapour Product. However, a sensorially elevated tobacco flavour was confirmed by a consumer sensory panel ( P

  • VLSI-SoC - Analog-input analog-weight dot-Product Operation with Ag/a-Si/Pt memristive devices
    2012 IEEE IFIP 20th International Conference on VLSI and System-on-Chip (VLSI-SoC), 2012
Co-Authors: Fabien Alibart, Dmitri B. Strukov
    Abstract:

We demonstrate that hybrid circuit consisting of Ag/a-Si/Pt memristive devices and silicon Operational amplifier can perform analog dot-Product computation. The high conductive states in the considered memristive device are linear, making it useful for general analog-input analog-weight Operations. In particular, in proposed hybrid circuits, input analog voltage is multiplied by analog weight (conductance) of memristive devices, and the resulting currents are passively summed with the inverting configuration Operational amplifier. The proposed concept is checked experimentally by demonstrating passive mixing of two continuous analog signals using a discrete chip Operational amplifier and Ag/a-Si/Pt memristive devices, which are programmed using a recently demonstrated variation-tolerant algorithm with a high precision.
