GriffithAbstract:The level of violence in American society has become an important political and public health concern. Violence encompasses a wide range of behaviors that involve the exertion of physical or Psychological Force in order to injure or abuse. It is a complex behavior and, like all behaviors, it occurs in the context of culture. The causes of violence and the various ways in which it becomes manifest are influenced by the prevailing attitudes of society and society's perspective on the aims and legitimacy of particular forms of violence. The article addresses the various theories of aggression and violence, diagnostic issues related to victimization by violence, and therapeutic concerns in treating both victims and perpetrators of violence. Biologic, Psychological, and sociocultural perspectives on violence may contribute to conceptual distinctions such as nonhostile aggression versus hostile destructiveness. Violence affects the same racial and cultural groups most likely to have limited access to medical care or who are more resistant to using mental health services. The therapeutic approach to these problems is influenced by the nature of the trauma and the wishes of the patient requiring the commitment and expertise of care providers. Those who act violently need clinicians willing to explore the meaning of the violent act and to respond with understanding rather than with a judgmental attitude.

Attitudes of Marmara university third grade students towards dating violence

In the studies conducted, it was determined that one of the groups most at risk in terms of exposure to violence is the adolescent and young adult age group. Prevention of violence in the dating period mayal so prevent many types of violence that may occur in the future. Therefore, it is important to determine the attitudes of individuals in the age group at risk towards violence. The aim of there search is to investigate the attitudes of students studying in the 3rd grade in the Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry departments at Marmara University against the dating violence and their relationship with various variables. Methods The study is qualitative and there search is cross-sectional. There search population consists of students studying in the third grade in the departments of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry at M.U. As a data collection tool, a 15-question questionnaire with sociodemographic variables and attitude scales for dating violence were used. Results Participants: 40.5% consist of Medical faculty, 25.90% Pharmacy faculty and 33.5% Dentistry faculty students. Male participants 'attitudes cores towards Psychological violence by men in flirting were higher than female participants' attitudescores towards Psychological violence by men. When the attitude scales of the participants towards flirting violence were evaluated according to the faculty they studied, no significant difference was found. Conclusions This research has revealed that, like many studies in the literature, men's attitude scores towards dating violence are higher than women. While there is a statistically positive relationship between violence attitude scores towards cigarette smoking;there is a negative relationship between the duration of flirting and violence attidue scores. Key messages The dating violence is preventable health problem. The dating violence is silent war.

To Matrix, Network, or Hierarchy: That Is the Question.

HurleyAbstract:Abstract The authors present a structural analysis of three spatial diagrams—matrices, networks, and hierarchies—that specifies 10 properties on which these diagrammatic representations are hypothesized to differ: global structure, building block, number of sets, item/link constraints, item distinguishability, link type, absence of a relation, linking relations, path, and traversal. Each property has a “value” for each diagram, and these property values constitute the applicability conditions for the representations. Twenty-three college students (computer science majors and math educators) selected the type of diagram they thought would be most efficient for organizing the information in each of 18 short scenarios and verbally justified the reasons for their selections. The verbal protocols were coded with respect to the structural analysis. Both the representation selection and verbal justification data provided strong support for the structural analysis. Additionally, a factor analysis of students' justifications indicated that the organization of their knowledge is consistent with the structural analysis. Students' use of the structural properties to select appropriate representations and to justify those selections indicates that the structural analysis has Psychological Force.

Experiment Calibrated Simulation Modeling of Crowding Forces in High Density Crowd

However, studies on high density crowd simulation models have not been sufficiently developed, and related experimental studies are not sufficiently detailed to guide modeling research. Models that can reproduce real high density crowds and enable calibration of key parameters are lacking. In this study, we improved the typical social Force model to simulate high density crowd motion with the calculation of crowding Forces. To simulate high density crowds, pedestrians were modeled using the three-circle model, and an agent-based pedestrian model was formulated that can regulate the Psychological Force automatically according to crowd density. An individual crowd density calculation method is proposed that is more suitable for high density crowds. To calculate real crowding Force, body stiffness was formulated and the corresponding parameters were calibrated by a series of experiments. Field experiments show that passengers bear greater Force on their backs than the Force on each shoulder in metro carriage. The modified model was verified by comparing the simulation results with observed data. We applied this model to the Beijing subway, and the theoretical maximum crowd densities in different seasons were calculated from the perspective of crowding Force to ensure the safety of passengers, which are 7.2 people/m2 in winter and 10.3 people/m2 in summer. Therefore, to ensure passenger safety, the subway operation department should arrange more trains during winter peak hours.
