  • IUI Companion - An initial Analysis of semantic wikis
Proceedings of the companion publication of the 2013 international conference on Intelligent user interfaces companion - IUI '13 Companion, 2013
Co-Authors: Yolanda Gil, Angela Knight, Kevin Zhang, Larry Zhang, Ricky J. Sethi
    Abstract:

Semantic wikis augment wikis with semantic properties that can be used to aggregate and query data through reasoning. Semantic wikis are used by many communities, for widely varying purposes such as organizing genomic knowledge, coding software, and tracking environmental data. Although wikis have been analyzed extensively, there has been no Published Analysis of the use of semantic wikis. We carried out an initial Analysis of twenty semantic wikis selected for their diverse characteristics and content. Based on the number of property edits per contributor, we identified several patterns to characterize community behaviors that are common to groups of wikis.

  • ICSC - The Democratization of Semantic Properties: An Analysis of Semantic Wikis
2013 IEEE Seventh International Conference on Semantic Computing, 2013
Co-Authors: Yolanda Gil, Angela Knight, Kevin Zhang, Larry Zhang, Varun Ratnakar, Ricky J. Sethi

In this paper, we analyze twenty semantic wikis selected for their diverse characteristics and content. We analyze the property edits and compare to the total number of edits in the wiki. We also show how semantic properties are created over the lifetime of the wiki.

  • Thermal fluctuations of the magnetic field over a thin conducting plate
    Journal of Applied Physics, 1998
    Co-Authors: Bradley J. Roth
    Abstract:

The thermal fluctuations of the magnetic field over a thin conducting plate are calculated. The plate is represented as a superposition of circuits, where each circuit consists of an array of current loops characterized by a particular spatial frequency. The thermally induced current in each loop is determined from the magnetic energy associated with the circuit and the equipartition theorem. This method gives results that are nearly identical to a previously Published Analysis of this problem by Varpula and Poutanen [J. Appl. Phys. 55, 4015 (1984)], in the limit when the plate is thin.

  • Hamstring tendon autograft better than bone patellar-tendon bone autograft in ACL reconstruction: a cumulative meta-Analysis and clinically relevant sensitivity Analysis applied to a previously Published Analysis.
    Acta orthopaedica, 2007
Co-Authors: Rudolf W. Poolman, Forough Farrokhyar, Mohit Bhandari
    Abstract:

Background Current debate on treatment options for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction complicate the choice between hamstring and bone patellartendon bone autografts. We hypothesized a priori that cumulative meta-Analysis (a form of sensitivity Analysis) might show that the evidence for reduction of morbidity by hamstring grafts could have been reached at an earlier time. Furthermore, we hypothesized a priori that modern state-of-the-art hamstring graft fixation technique would give similar results regarding stability as bone-patellar tendon-bone autografts. Methods We performed a cumulative meta-Analysis and sensitivity Analysis based on femoral graft fixation techniques to compare hamstring autograft and bonepatellar tendon-bone autografts in ACL reconstruction derived from a previously Published meta-Analysis.Results Cumulatively, that hamstring autograft reduces anterior knee pain had already reached statistical significance in 2001 (relative risk 0.49 (95%CI: 0.32–0.76; p = 0.001, I2 = 0%...
