HICSS - An E-Health Readiness Assessment Framework for Public Health Services--Pandemic Perspective
2012 45th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2012Co-Authors: Jun-hua Li, Holly Seale, Raina MacintyreAbstract:A pandemic can increase the morbidity and mortality levels, and as a result cause social disruption and economic losses. E-Health, an application of information and communication technologies for health, may mitigate the impact of a pandemic by enhancing pandemic surveillance and control (e.g., rapid case reporting) and improving performance of medical practices (e.g., efficient documentation). The implementation of E-Health requires proper planning and management. E-Health Readiness Assessment represents an important step in change management, and including this step in the planning process increases the chances of E-Health implementation success. In this paper, we develop a framework of E-Health Readiness Assessment for a pandemic from healthcare organisational and providers' perspectives.

E-health Readiness Assessment methodology (EHRAM)
Pervasive Health Knowledge Management, 2013Co-Authors: Jun-hua Li, Pradeep RayAbstract:E-Health systems include applications of information communication technologies to promote healthcare services support, delivery and education. Readiness Assessment has been identified as an essential requirement for the success of E-Health in terms of adoption rate and/or acceptance. This paper presents E-Health Readiness Assessment Methodology (EHRAM). It involves a new E-Health Readiness Assessment Framework (EHRAF), an Assessment process and several techniques for analysing the Assessment data to arrive at a Readiness score. The EHRAF (Model) integrates the components from healthcare providers' and organisational perspectives of existing E-Health Readiness evaluation frameworks. The process of EHRAM (Method) starts with the development of a set of hierarchical evaluation criteria based on EHRAF. This leads to the questionnaire development for data collection. The data is analysed in EHRAM using a number of statistical and data mining techniques. The methodology is supported by an automated tool called E-Health Readiness Assessment Toolset (EHRAT).

a systematic review of the psychometric properties of transition Readiness Assessment tools in adolescents with chronic disease
BMC Pediatrics, 2014Co-Authors: Lorena F Zhang, Sean E KennedyAbstract:Background Health care transition of adolescents with chronic conditions may be unsuccessful when patients have not acquired the necessary skills and developmental milestones. It is therefore critical for health care providers to assess the Readiness for transition of their adolescent patients. This is currently hindered by the lack of a recognised, well-established transition-Readiness Assessment tool.
