  • Study on Prediction of Relative Atomic Mass of Number 113 and 114 Chemical Elements
    Chemistry World, 2007
    Co-Authors: Ma Bai-xiang
    Abstract:

A mathematical expression based on the Newton interpolation of difference coefficient and calculus of differences was described for the prediction of Relative Atomic Mass. In its application to the calculation of Relative Atomic Mass of elements with Atomic numbers from 113 to 114, combining residual formula correction highly precise results were obtained. The results were in good consistency with the experimental 278 and 289 values given in the references~ [5,7] .

  • STUDY ON THE NUMERICAL CALCULATION OF Relative Atomic Mass
Physical Testing and Chemical Analysis, 2005
    Co-Authors: Ma Bai-xiang
    Abstract:

A mathematical expression based on the natural cubic interpolating spline was described for the calculation of Relative Atomic Mass. All the 2nd order continuous differentiable subsection tri-multinomial functions passed through the data points, thus giving the smoothest function of all data points and the exclusive function with minimum total curvature. In its application to the calculation of Relative Atomic Mass of elements with Atomic numbers from 1 to 112,results obtained by this calculation method were in good consistency with the values given as printed in the Atomic Mass table of the year 1999.
