  • Bridging the semantic Web and Web 2.0 with representational state transfer (REST)
    Journal of Web Semantics, 2008
    Co-Authors: Robert Battle, Edward Benson
    Abstract:

Semantic Web technologies must integrate with Web 2.0 services for both to leverage each others strengths. We argue that the REST-based design methodologies [R.T. Fielding, R.N. Taylor, Principled design of the modern web architecture, ACM Trans. Internet Technol. (TOIT) 2 (2) (2002) 115-150] of the web present the ideal mechanism through which to align the publication of semantic data with the existing web architecture. We present the design and implementation of two solutions that combine REST-based design and RDF [D. Beckett (Ed.), RDF/XML Syntax Specification (Revised), W3C Recommendation, February 10, 2004] data access: one solution for integrating existing web services and one server-side solution for creating RDF REST services. Both of these solutions enable SPARQL [E. Prud'hommeaux, A. Seaborne (Eds.), SPARQL Query Language for RDF, W3C Working Draft, March 26, 2007] to be a unifying data access layer for aligning the Semantic Web and Web 2.0.

  • implementasi representational state transfer rest pada checkout payment gateway service dalam sistem informasi e commerce menggunakan teknologi web service
    2018
    Co-Authors: Alfi Jabarudin - Setiawan
    Abstract:

;--- Nowadays the development of information technology (IT) has brought people to a more modern era. Therefore, technology and information become very closely related in all aspects of human life. In Business activities For example, Technology and information becomes a very important thing for an Organization to execute the strategic policies of the Organization in achieving its business objectives. Difficulties in integrating data across multiple different systems become one of the problems that developers often encounter, ranging from programming languages, platforms, and devices used. Therefore, it is necessary to create a web service for e-commerce information systems with REST technology. This design is made two service model for two modules namely module of whole e-commerce information system and checkout and payment service module. In this module will generate data with JSON format. REST webservice testing techniques use blackbox testing techniques with Postman tester application tools. Webservice testing is done on prototype web service application. The research method used is service engineering framework based on SOA. The research succeeded in applying representational state transfer (REST) in e-commerce information system on checkout service and payment service.

  • ReLock: a resilient two-phase locking RESTful transaction model
Service Oriented Computing and Applications, 2021
Co-Authors: Luca Frosini, Pasquale Pagano, Leonardo Candela, Manuele Simi, Cinzia Bernardeschi
    Abstract:

Service composition and supporting transactions across composed services are among the major challenges characterizing service-oriented computing. representational state transfer (REST) is one of the approaches used for implementing Web services that is gaining momentum thanks to its features making it suitable for cloud computing and microservices-based contexts. This paper introduces ReLock, a resilient RESTful transaction model introducing general purpose transactions on RESTful services by a layered approach and a two-phase locking mechanism not requesting any change to the RESTful services involved in a transaction.

  • extending the representational state transfer rest architectural style for decentralized systems
International Conference on Software Engineering, 2004
Co-Authors: Rohit Khare, Richard N. Taylor
    Abstract:

Because it takes time and trust to establish agreement, traditional consensus-based architectural styles cannotsafely accommodate resources that change faster than ittakes to transmit notification of that change, nor resourcesthat must be shared across independent agencies. The alternative is decentralization: permitting independentagencies to make their own decisions. Ourdefinition contrasts with that of distribution, in whichseveral agents share control of a single decision.Ultimately, the physical limits of network latency and thesocial limits of independent agency call for solutions thatcan accommodate multiple values for the same variable. Our approach to this challenge is architectural: proposingconstraints on the configuration of componentsand connectors to induce particular desired properties ofthe whole application. Specifically, we present, implement, and evaluate variations of the World Wide Webýsrepresentational state transfer (REST) architecturalstyle that support distributed and decentralized systems.
