Some qualitative properties of sampled-data control systems
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1997Co-Authors: Ling Hou, A.n. MichelAbstract:The authors consider sampled-data control systems which consist of an interconnection of a continuous-time nonlinear plant and a digital controller which has quantizers (but is otherwise linear), along with the Required Interface elements (A/D and D/A converters). In the present paper the authors study the qualitative effects of the quantizers and the plant nonlinearities of these systems.

Some qualitative properties of sampled-data control systems
Proceedings of 35th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 1Co-Authors: Ling Hou, A.n. Michel, Ye HuiAbstract:We consider sampled-data control systems which consist of an interconnection of a continuous-time nonlinear plant, a digital controller which has quantizers (but is otherwise linear), along with the Required Interface elements (A/D and D/A converters). We study the qualitative effects of the quantizers and the plant nonlinearities of these systems.

a reusable business tier component with a single wide range static Interface
European Conference on Software Architecture, 2011Co-Authors: Oscar Mortagua Pereira, Rui L Aguiar, Maribel Yasmina SantosAbstract:This research proposes an architecture for reusable components aimed at bridging the object-oriented and the relational paradigms. The component, referred to here as Business Tier Component, provides a single wide range static Interface able to manage a set of Create, Read, Update and Delete (CRUD) expressions, deployed at runtime and of any complexity, on behalf of application tiers. The only constraint is that the Required Interface to manage each CRUD expression must be a super-Interface of the provided wide range Interface. The main research challenge of this paper is the definition of an architecture for reusable components aimed at managing dynamically a set of CRUD expressions, deployed at runtime, on behalf of application tiers.
