Antenna efficiency measurement from quality factor estimation in Reverberation Chamber
2016 46th European Microwave Conference (EuMC), 2016Co-Authors: Philippe Besnier, Christophe Lemoine, Jerome Sol, Anthony Presse, Anne-claude TarotAbstract:This communication deals with a method that enables to extract antenna efficiency estimation from Reverberation Chamber measurements and more specifically from the composite Q-factor estimation of the Reverberation Chamber. It is another variant of antenna efficiency measurement method in a Reverberation Chamber that takes advantage of the properties of the composite Q-factor that involves various components including the quality factor of antennas themselves. We show that in a well-overmoded cavity, the Q-factor measured from two antennas in the Chamber gives access to the contrast of their efficiency. Estimation uncertainty is discussed with regard to the substitution method.

Numerical study of spatial correlation in Reverberation Chamber
Electronics Letters, 2011Co-Authors: Emmanuel Amador, Christophe Lemoine, Philippe BesnierAbstract:The spatial correlation in a Reverberation Chamber as a function of either the wavelength or the displacement is discussed. It is shown that the results from simulations are consistent with theory when the wavelength is changed. However, when the receiver is moved in the Reverberation Chamber, the spatial correlation differs from theory.

On the $K$ -Factor Estimation for Rician Channel Simulated in Reverberation Chamber
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2011Co-Authors: Christophe Lemoine, Emmanuel Amador, Philippe BesnierAbstract:Reverberation Chambers were recently proposed to simulate Rician radio environment with controllable K-factor. The K-factor is also a parameter that may tell how ideal may be a Reverberation Chamber when it is used for other more conventional purposes. This paper is dedicated to the problem of the correct estimation of K in a Reverberation Chamber given a set of data measured along a stirring process.

Reverberation Chamber Modeling Based on Image Theory: Investigation in the Pulse Regime
IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2010Co-Authors: Emmanuel Amador, Christophe Lemoine, Philippe Besnier, Alexandre LaisneAbstract:In this paper we propose a straight- forward 3D time domain model of a Reverberation Chamber (RC) based on image theory. This model allows one to describe the earliest moments of an arbi- trary waveform in an RC. Time domain and frequency domain results from this model are analyzed and compared with measurements conducted in a Reverberation Chamber.

Studying the pulse regime in a Reverberation Chamber with a model based on image theory
2010 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 2010Co-Authors: Emmanuel Amador, Christophe Lemoine, Philippe Besnier, Alexandre LaisneAbstract:In this article, we propose a time-domain model of a Reverberation Chamber (RC). This very straightforward model based upon image theory (IT) allows to simulate the behavior of a Reverberation Chamber in the pulse regime. After a brief introduction of the model, results with different pulse lengths and different loading configurations are presented and compared to measurements made in the Reverberation Chamber of our laboratory.

Evaluation of Transmit Antenna Position in Reverberation Chamber
The 2006 4th Asia-Pacific Conference on Environmental Electromagnetics, 2006Co-Authors: Zhiyong Yuan, R. Zeng, S. Chen, Jinliang He, Tun LiAbstract:The calibration of the Reverberation Chamber is very important. The influence of the position of the transmit antenna on the performance of the Reverberation Chamber is analyzed according to the measurement data. The parameters such as field uniformity, quality factor and the receiver antenna calibration factor are analyzed in detail on the different positions of the transmit antenna. It reveals that the position of the transmit antenna has insignificant influence on the testing repeatability and the orientation of the transmit antenna aligning to the stirrer is a better way for calibration and testing.

Technology of the Reverberation Chamber for EMC test
Gaodianya Jishu High Voltage Engineering, 2005Co-Authors: Zhiguo Yuan, R. Zeng, Jian He, S. ChenAbstract:The technology of the Reverberation Chamber for EMC test is introduced in details. The technology includes the Chamber calibration and the qualification of the performance parameters. The statistical uniform and isotropic field is yielded by rotating a stirrer in the shielding room. The radiation immunity testing technology using the Reverberation Chamber is also analyzed and compared with the testing technology using anechoic Chamber. It shows that the RC technology offers an excellent alternative with low cost, high speed and large volume. Moreover, the RC technology has been accepted by several international standards.
