  • Risk Management in BOT projects of WTE plant
2011 Second International Conference on Mechanic Automation and Control Engineering, 2011
Co-Authors: Huang Wenxiong, Xu Wenlong, Qu Zhiyun, Yun Song
    Abstract:

This paper gives a systemic and comprehensive Risk analysis of WTE plant BOT projects. The Risk change curves of government and project owner in different periods are analyzed. Twelve key Risks which impact on WTE plant BOT projects are identified. And all these Risks are classified by government, project companies or allocated between the two parts according to Risk Management Principle. At last, the strategies of Risks allocation and precaution are presented for this kind of BOT projects, to provide a Risk Management framework for project participants, especially for local government.

  • Multilevel fuzzy model for Risk Management
2009 IEEE International Conference on Computational Cybernetics (ICCC), 2009
    Co-Authors: M. Takacs
    Abstract:

In the paper a preliminary system construction and solution of the Risk Management Principle is given. The solution is based on the multilevel model construction and grouped Risk factors. The Risk Management Principle is given based on structured Risk factors classification and on the fact, that some Risk factor groups, Risk factors or Management actions have a weighted role in the system operation. The system parameters are represented with the fuzzy sets, and the grouped Risk factors' values give intermitted result. Considering some system input parameters, which determine the Risk factors' role in the decision making system, intermitted results can be weighted and forwarded to the next level of the reasoning process. The hierarchically structured, weighted Risk factor groups are represented in fuzzy environment. The generally given method is applied in a diagnostics example: for the calculation of the stroke Risk taking into account Risk factors selected by experts.

  • 3D representation of the Risk factor Management based on type-2 fuzzy sets
2009 4th International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics, 2009
    Co-Authors: M. Takacs
    Abstract:

In the paper a preliminary system construction and solution of the Risk Management Principle is given. The solution is based on the system parameters representation with the type 2 fuzzy sets, and decision making model based on the modified, weighted Mamdani type decision making system. The system output is represented by a colored surface in 3D form. The decision making system is based on distance based operators taking into the consideration the fuzziness of fuzzy sets. Calculating the rule output we consider the weightiness at the ith rule proportionally with the fuzziness of rule premise and rule input in that rule.

  • Conceptual Framework on Risk Management in IT Outsou rcing Projects
    2008
    Co-Authors: Selangor Malaysia
    Abstract:

A bstract: - Outsourcing is becoming a trend nowadays. Malaysia also takes this opportunity and embraces in IT outsourcing. As a result, Malaysia has been ranked as the third most attractive destination for outsourcing after India and China. Despite increasing number of organizations that involve in IT outsourcing, it should be noted that IT outsourcing is not a panacea. It comes together with Risks. The Risks, if not managed, will lead to outsourcing failure. Even though other areas have adopted Risk Management as their patching material, the application of Risk Management in IT outsourcing was not quite accomplished. Risk Management should be conducted in IT outsourcing as it will foresee Risks that might disturb the smooth flowing of IT outsourcing and prevent or reduce the impact of Risks if they occur. It should be conducted at early stage and should be continuously performed until the end of outsourcing life cycle. This paper presents a conceptual framework to manage Risk in IT outsourcing. The framework will cover the process in Risk Management in IT outsourcing as well as the Risk Management Principle that should be conducted at each and every phases of IT Outsourcing life cycle. A set of questionnaire was distributed to organizations to validate the conceptual framework. The findings showed that the consequences of not practicing Risk Management would result in poor controlling and managing of IT outsourcing projects. Based on the findings, future empirical and exploratory survey will be conducted and Risk Management in IT outsourcing framework will be developed.
