    Abstract:

    The basic principle of self-excitation of the synchronous generator is introduced.The mathematical model for determining self-excitation of units in the whole power network(multi-machine system) is set up theoretically.It is put forward that the self-excitation state Equations of the system be established in the multi-machine network.By characteristic Root discriminance and based on the matrix characteristic Root of Equations and the property of correlation factors,whether there is a self-excitation in the system and where it happens can be judged.Through correlation factors and sensitivity calculation,the main influencing factors and their characteristics are determined.The critical state parameters of the system can also be obtained by one-dimensional search method.The method proposed enables effective judgment of generator self-excitation and is of practical referential value to the formulation of black-start strategy.
