  • Optimal designing of an SkSP-R double Sampling Plan
Communications in Statistics-theory and Methods, 2017
Co-Authors: Saminathan Balamurali, Liaquat Ahmad, Muhammad Aslam, Jaffer Hussain
    Abstract:

ABSTRACTIn this article, we propose a method of Planning and determining the optimum parameters of a SkSP-R skip-lot Sampling Plan by using the attribute double Sampling Plan as the reference Plan. The SkSP-R Plan is a new type of skip-lot Sampling Plan which has a provision for re-inspecting the submitted lots. The optimal Plan parameters of the suggested Sampling Plan are estimated with the target that the average sample number be minimized and satisfying both the specified producer's as well as the consumer's risks simultaneously. In order to obtain the optimum parameters, tables are also built for different combinations of the acceptable quality level and the limiting quality level in conjunctions with different producer's and consumer's risks. An illustrative example is provided for the implementation of the suggested Plan. The advantages of the suggested Plan over the existing conventional Sampling Plans and other existing skip-lot Sampling Plans are also described.

  • Hybrid Reliability Sampling Plan for Gamma Lifetime Model
International journal of applied mathematics and statistics, 2017
Co-Authors: Saminathan Balamurali, Il-gyo Chong, Muhammad Aslam, Mansour Sattam Aldosari
    Abstract:

Reliability Sampling Plans are used to determine the acceptability of a product at some future point in its effective life. In this paper, a new hybrid reliability Sampling Plan is proposed when the life time follows a gamma distribution in which the number of failures to be observed and the life test truncation time are determined through a heuristic search procedure. The proposed reliability Sampling Plan is quite advantageous as it provides savings in resources and total test times with desired protection.

  • A new attribute Sampling Plan using neutrosophic statistical interval method
    Complex & Intelligent Systems, 2019
    Co-Authors: Muhammad Aslam
    Abstract:

In the classical statistics, for the inspection of a final lot of the product, a decision is made either the lot has good quality or not using an acceptance Sampling Plan. The acceptance of Sampling using the classical statistics assumes that data are determinate. In some situations, the data may imprecise and even intermediate which leads to indecision about the quality of the submitted lot of the product. In this situation, neutrosophic statistics can be applied for the lot sentencing. In this paper, a new attribute Sampling Plan is proposed using the neutrosophic interval method. The lot acceptance, rejection, and indeterminate probabilities are computed using the neutrosophic binomial distribution at various specified parameters such as sample size and acceptance number. The efficiency of the proposed Sampling Plan is also discussed. A real example is also added to explain the proposed Sampling Plan.

  • Sampling Plan for Big Data
Testing and Inspection Using Acceptance Sampling Plans, 2019
    Co-Authors: Muhammad Aslam
    Abstract:

In previous chapters, the various Sampling Plans discussed were for small data obtained from the industry. In this modern era of big data, there are several situations where the data is obtained for the inspection or lot sentencing of the product from a huge data set. The study of big data has been becoming popular day by day, especially for the inspection of marine data, rail inspection data, ocean data and cloud data. For the inspection of big data from these important fields, the traditional Sampling Plans can be applied to lot sentencing or to the inspection of the data. In this chapter, we will focus on introducing the Sampling Plans for the inspection of big data. So, in this chapter an attempt is made to briefly focus on the introduction of big data, application of big data in quality control, inspection for big data, Sampling Plans for big data and application of Sampling Plan for big data using some important published work in this field.

  • selecting better process based on difference statistic using double Sampling Plan
Communications in Statistics-theory and Methods, 2019
Co-Authors: Kalsoom Afzal Butt, Muhammad Aslam, Fu-kwun Wang
    Abstract:

AbstractSupplier management plays an important role in the quality improvement process. Recently, supplier selection has received much attention in many production industries. In this paper, we propose a double Sampling Plan for selecting a better supplier comparing two suppliers with linear profiles. The difference test statistic based on the process yield index SpkA is used to determine the optimal parameters of the proposed double Sampling Plan. The efficiency of the proposed Sampling Plan is compared with the existing single Sampling Plan.

  • Sampling Plan using ewma statistic of regression estimator
Iranian Journal of Science and Technology Transaction A-science, 2018
Co-Authors: Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Azam, Chi-hyuck Jun
    Abstract:

It is well-known that a regression estimator of the mean quality characteristic would be more informative when a correlated auxiliary variable is available. In this manuscript, we propose a new lot acceptance Sampling Plan based on the exponentially weighted average (EWMA) statistic of the regression estimator. It is assumed that the two variables of quality characteristic of interest and an auxiliary variable follow a bivariate normal distribution. Two cases of sigma known and sigma unknown are considered separately. We provide the tables for industrial use for various values of the smoothing constant. The efficiency of the proposed Plan is discussed over the existing acceptance Sampling Plan based on EWMA.

  • improved acceptance Sampling Plan based on ewma statistic
    Sequential Analysis, 2015
    Co-Authors: Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Azam
    Abstract:

Abstract In this article, a variable repetitive Sampling Plan is proposed based on exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) statistic assuming that the quality of interest follows the normal distribution. A nonlinear optimization problem is developed and the Plan parameters are determined by satisfying the imposed conditions. The Plan parameters are determined when the standard deviation is known or unknown. The efficiency of the proposed Plan is discussed over the existing variable Plan using the EWMA statistic for single Sampling. An example is presented to implement the proposed Plan in the industry.

    Abstract:

Abstract In this paper, a time truncated life test based on two stage group acceptance Sampling Plan for the percentile lifetime following half-normal distribution is proposed. The optimal parameters for the proposed Plan are determined such that both producer’s and consumer’s risks are satisfied simultaneously for the given experimentation time and sample size. The efficiency of the proposed Sampling Plan is discussed in terms of average sample number with the existing Sampling Plan. The proposed Sampling Plan is explained with the help of industrial examples.

  • designing of multiple deferred state Sampling Plan for generalized inverted exponential distribution
    Sequential Analysis, 2017
Co-Authors: Saminathan Balamurali, P Jeyadurga, Mahalingam Usha
    Abstract:

ABSTRACTIn this article, we propose a Sampling Plan called a multiple deferred state Sampling Plan for sentencing a lot based on the information of current and successive lot samples. Based on this Sampling Plan, the median life of the product is assured based on a time-truncated life test where the lifetime of the product follows the generalized inverted exponential distribution. The quality of the product is measured by its median life. The optimal parameters of the proposed Plan are obtained by using the approach of two points on the operating characteristic curve. Tables are also constructed for determining the optimal parameters with various shape parameters. The implementation of the proposed Plan is illustrated with examples. The performance of the proposed Plan is compared with the performance of existing Sampling Plans under the generalized inverted exponential distribution.

  • designing of bayesian multiple deferred state Sampling Plan based on gamma poisson distribution
American Journal of Mathematical and Management Sciences, 2016
Co-Authors: Saminathan Balamurali, P Jeyadurga, Mahalingam Usha
    Abstract:

SYNOPTIC ABSTRACTConditional Sampling Plans such as chain Sampling Plans can be applied for making decisions on lot disposition utilizing not only information from the lot sampled but also information from preceding lots. The intent in the utilization of prior lot information is to reduce sample size and consequent costs of the decision process. A deferred state Sampling Plan is a conditional Sampling Plan in which the decision about previous lots is deferred until successive lots are selected and the outcome of successive lots is observed. In this article, we propose the multiple deferred state Sampling Plan based on the Bayesian methodology under the gamma–Poisson distribution. Tables of optimal parameters such as the sample size, acceptance numbers, and number of successive lots required to make the decision on the current lot are provided. The optimal parameters are determined using the approach of two points on the operating characteristic curve and by minimizing the average sample number. The advant...

  • optimal designing of variables Sampling Plan for resubmitted lots
Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2015
    Co-Authors: Saminathan Balamurali, Mahalingam Usha
    Abstract:

This article proposes a variables Sampling Plan that can be applied for Sampling inspection of resubmitted lots when the quality characteristic of interest follows the normal distribution. Resubmission of lots for inspection is allowed in some situations where the original inspection results are suspected or when the supplier or producer is allowed to opt for reSampling as per the provisions of the contract, etc. The advantages of this proposed variables Sampling Plan over the existing single Sampling variables Plan are discussed. Tables are also constructed for the selection of optimal parameters of known and unknown standard deviation variables reSampling scheme for specified two points on the operating characteristic curve, namely, the acceptable quality level and the limiting quality level along with the producer and consumer's risks. The optimization problem is formulated as a nonlinear programming where the objective function to be minimized is the average sample number and the constraints are relat...

  • optimal designing of variables chain Sampling Plan by minimizing the average sample number
International Journal of Manufacturing Engineering, 2013
    Co-Authors: Saminathan Balamurali, Mahalingam Usha
    Abstract:

We investigate the optimal designing of chain Sampling Plan for the application of normally distributed quality characteristics. The chain Sampling Plan is one of the conditional Sampling procedures and this Plan under variables inspection will be useful when testing is costly and destructive. The advantages of this proposed variables Plan over variables single Sampling Plan and variables double Sampling Plan are discussed. Tables are also constructed for the selection of optimal parameters of known and unknown standard deviation variables chain Sampling Plan for specified two points on the operating characteristic curve, namely, the acceptable quality level and the limiting quality level, along with the producer’s and consumer’s risks. The optimization problem is formulated as a nonlinear programming where the objective function to be minimized is the average sample number and the constraints are related to lot acceptance probabilities at acceptable quality level and limiting quality level under the operating characteristic curve.
