  • interference management for downlink reference signal in lte compatible multiple beam mobile Satellite Communication System
International Conference on Electronics Communications and Control, 2012
    Co-Authors: Yadan Zheng, Shubo Ren
    Abstract:

In 3GPP long term evolution (LTE) System, Reference Signal (RS) is used for channel estimation and data demodulation. However, when we transplant terrestrial specifications to Satellite environment, poor channel, interference condition will lead to Downlink Reference Signal (DL-RS) performance degradation and waste of physical resource. In this paper, based on the System model, channel model and interference model of multiple-beam mobile Satellite Communication System, two interference management technologies: retransmit with combined receive technique and frequency hopping scheme are proposed. Simulation results prove the effectiveness of the mentioned interference management methods for DL-RS.

  • interference cancellation and coordination scheme for sounding reference signal in multiple beam mobile Satellite Communication System
    Vehicular Technology Conference, 2012
    Co-Authors: Yadan Zheng, Shubo Ren
    Abstract:

In LTE System, sounding reference signal (SRS) is transmitted for channel detection to obtain uplink scheduling gain. However, in multiple-beam mobile Satellite Communication System (MMSCS), large inter-beam and intra-beam interference destroy orthogonality for SRS from different users and lead to lower received SNR. Subsequently, the System cannot predict the channel exactly and will suffer from performance loss. In this paper, an interference cancellation and coordination scheme is presented. This new scheme, by taking MMSCS resources and channel conditions into account, can improve SRS performance after reducing and avoiding interference. One aspect of the presented method is interference cancellation scheme which comprises resending scheme for inter-beam interference and orthogonality enhancement scheme for intra-beam interference. Another aspect is interference coordination scheme, which carries out short SRS hopping between users and acquires the full bandwidth information by several detections. Simulation results confirm the correctness and effectiveness of the above scheme.

  • Uplink Reference Signal Design for LTE Compatible GEO Multiple-beam Mobile Satellite Communication System
    2013
Co-Authors: Si Ying, Zheng Yadan, Ren Shubo, Ma Ming, Wu Jianjun
    Abstract:

For 3GPP long term evolution (LTE) uplink, reference signal (RS) is an important kind of physical signal which is primarily used for demodulation and channel sounding. However, in the multiple-beam Satellite environments, the inter-beam and intra-beam interference will break the orthogonality of uplink RS (UL-RS) from different user equipments (UEs), resulting in System performance degradation. In this paper, according to the characteristics of the Satellite channels and inter/intra-beam interference, we analyze the compatibility problem, calculate the available capacity for the existing UL-RS in multiple-beam Satellite environment, and propose a novel uplink RS scheme which includes UL-RS sparsing, OCC scrambling and resource configuration for LTE compatible GEO multiple-beam mobile Satellite Communication System. • Research on transmission method of CDMA Satellite Communication System based on time division duplexing
    2011
Co-Authors: Xu Xiaoyan, Ren Shubo, Wu Jianjun, Xi Luan, Xiang Haige
    Abstract:

A noval signal transmission method of asynchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) is proposed to improve the utilization of uplink timeslots for the time division duplexing (TDD) Satellite Communication Systems. The terminals at different positions within a beam of the Satellite antenna transmit their data blocks at different moments in the uplink timeslot window according to a certain rule. The uplink guard time can be reduced to one time the maximum propagation delay difference in this beam, while the uplink guard time of two times the maximum propagation delay difference was needed for the synchronous reception case in Reference [4]. Furthermore, two specific schemes are introduced to instantiate the proposed signal transmission method: transmission at discrete moments and transmission at continuous moments, and their multiple access interference (MAI) performances are analyzed and compared via simulation. It is shown that the performance of discrete transmission scheme is slightly better than the other one. ? 2011 Global IT Research Inst.EI

  • construction of a flexibility analysis model for flexible high throughput Satellite Communication Systems with a digital channelizer
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2018
Co-Authors: Kazuma Kaneko, Amane Miura, Hiroki Nishiyama, Nei Kato, Morio Toyoshima
    Abstract:

Recent years have seen the development of a Satellite Communication System called a high-throughput Satellite (HTS), which enables large-capacity Communication to cope with various Communication demands. Current HTSs have a fixed allocation of Communication resources and cannot flexibly change this allocation during operation. Thus, effectively allocating Communication resources for Communication demands with a bias is not possible. Therefore, technology is being developed to add flexibility to Satellite Communication Systems, but there is no System analysis model available to quantitatively evaluate the flexibility performance. In this study, we constructed a System analysis model to quantitatively evaluate the flexibility of a Satellite Communication System and used it to analyze a Satellite Communication System equipped with a digital channelizer.

  • research and development on a hybrid high throughput Satellite with an optical feeder link study of a link budget analysis
2017 IEEE International Conference on Space Optical Systems and Applications (ICSOS), 2017
Co-Authors: Morio Toyoshima, Tetsuharu Fuse, Alberto Carrascocasado, Dimitar Kolev, Hideki Takenaka, Yasushi Munemasa, Kenji Suzuki, Yoshisada Koyama, Toshihiro Kubooka, Hiroo Kunimori
    Abstract:

Broadband Communication using Satellites requires use of the Ka band. Services of this type are now emerging all over the world, some with capacities in excess of 100 Gbps. However, as radio bandwidth resources become exhausted, high-speed optical Communication can be used instead to achieve ultra-broadband Communications. The National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) in Japan researches and develops the next generation of space Communication technology. A hybrid Satellite Communication System using radio and optical frequencies is being studied. Here, the research and development activities of NICT are introduced, along with the concept of the hybrid high-throughput Satellite Communication System with an optical feeder link. Examples of link budget analyses for 10-Gbps laser Communication links are given for Satellite links between the ground and geostationary Earth orbit.
