  • similar Service Aggregator that incorporates qos in an user centric environment
International Conference & Workshop on Emerging Trends in Technology, 2010
    Co-Authors: P Dhavachelvan
    Abstract:

The paradigm shift from proprietary standards to Global standards in Service computing has made web a user centric environment. With the advent of Web Service more and more user are on track to team up and share for their benefits. In a user centric environment the Service user namely the consumer, an application developer in our context is oriented towards providing more value added Services by means of discovery and composition. Here finding all similar Services that matches user demand is desired. An efficient mechanism that assists the user to identify the similar matches of his demands is proposed in this paper. Homogenous or similar Services at fine grained level are clustered based on their functional similarity. These are stored in a Service store called Service Aggregator which serves as a repository for the consumer to spot out his interest. Similar Service discovery includes search of similar single operation or composite operation. In our approach we propose a storage model that can incorporated functional as well as QoS i.e. non functional characteristics so that more specific user demand can be contented. The approach not only reduces the time consumed in discovery process but also helps the user to match is demand more precisely

  • Design and implementation of the home Service delivery and management system based on OSGi Service platform
2006 Digest of Technical Papers International Conference on Consumer Electronics, 1
Co-Authors: Taein Hwang, Ho-jin Park, Jinwook Chung
    Abstract:

Traditionally, the digital home Services have been provided separately by each Service providers that have closed Service delivery infrastructure for delivering home Services. Because of this, small companies that do not have the infrastructure to deploy home Services have difficulties in participating in the home network market. To solve this problem, we propose the digital home Service delivery system that provides open Service delivery platform that small business companies need to provide various home Services to users. By using the proposed system, the Service Aggregator using the proposed system can lead competition of the 3rd party Service providers in the home network Service market, and help it grow rapidly.

    Abstract:

Digital home Services have been provided separately by each Service provider who has a closed Service delivery infrastructure for delivering home Services. Because of this, 3rd party Service providers who do not have the infrastructure to deploy home Services have difficulties in participating in the home network market. Also, it is difficult for 3rd party Service providers to provide a control-device-specific graphic user interface to Service users due to the limitation of home gateway resources. In order to solve these problems, we propose a digital home Service delivery and management system for small business companies that need to provide various home Services to users. Also, this system supports functions for providing a user friendly graphic user interfaces dedicated to mobile device. By using the proposed system, the Service Aggregator can lead the competition of 3rd party Service providers in the home network Service market, and help it grow rapidly.

  • Survey and assessment of technical and economic features for the provision of frequency control Services by household-prosumers
    Energy Policy, 2020
    Co-Authors: A. Lopez, B. Ogayar, Jesus C. Hernández, F.s. Sutil
    Abstract:

Abstract This paper surveys and assesses the technical and economic features that are crucial in the provision of frequency control Services from aggregated household-prosumers. A framework is presented that allows policy makers to accurately assess these Services. Furthermore, the role of the Service Aggregator in the provision from prosumers is outlined, something that highlights the value of the new distributed framework. Also discussed are the key features within the overall context of the design variables in various European countries, which are representative of different synchronous areas. This finding implies that from a regulatory point of view, important efforts are being made to harmonise the different network codes in the investigated countries. Moreover, this research compares the impact of techno-economic design variables on the financial incomes of providing frequency control Services. For this purpose, we used a stochastic model of input variables that involves the statistical analysis of time series. A probabilistic method based on Monte Carlo simulation allowed the assessment of the revenues. The outcomes indicate that the RES penetration in each country together with the ratios of the power availability band and of the power availability band activation, and their associated prices are crucial factors that influence the resulting profitability.

  • ICWE - A Web-Based Mashup Tool for Information Integration and Delivery to Mobile Devices
Lecture Notes in Computer Science, 2009
    Co-Authors: Prach Chaisatien, Takehiro Tokuda
    Abstract:

The immense popularity in mobile internet has driven part of classic web information and Services to transform and shrink themselves to match the diversity of web-capable mobile devices. This paper will present a Web-based mashup tool to work with range of Japanese domestic mobile handsets and their variety of limited functionalities. Our purpose is to provide users an alternative option to customize information to be displayed and to integrate available Services for their mobile phone. Three major working components, functionality tester, Service Aggregator and output simulator will aid users in understanding the capability of their mobile device and selecting corresponding functionalities. Successfully simulated and simplified information Services will be accessible via user's mobile phones with correct configurations.
