Secure Kubernetes Networking Design Based on Zero Trust Model: A Case Study of Financial Service Enterprise in Indonesia

The new Services and technology were expected to utilize their existing virtualized resources without introducing any additional hardware. The goal of this study was to provide a secure network infrastructure design for the Kubernetes deployment in their Data Center. Network and security were still viewed as important aspects and focus. This study provided a design with network recommendations from the likes of Cisco and VMware, and Forrester’s Zero Trust model as its security guideline. Each of the recommendations has been evaluated and written through this study. The simulation results showed that the proposed design was able to conform with the Enterprise’s requirements and constraints, and successfully applying Zero Trust’s requirement in the container networks.

This study was made with the main objective of assessing intermodal termed as “multimodal” freight transport Service in Ethiopia. Data was collected by using structured questionnaire from randomly selected customers and multimodal freight transport section employees of Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Service Enterprise. The study was made in two stages using customers: first, they were asked to evaluate their satisfaction with the multimodal freight transport system; second, to evaluate their comparative satisfaction with the segmented/“uni-modal” freight transport system against five major freight transport performance indicators. Customers were also asked to identify and rank top ten problems of freight transport logistics in Ethiopia. Data were analyzed using SPSS and excel sheets with descriptive statistics and the results were depicted using charts and tables. The study indicated that majority of customers were either dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with many of the performance indicators. The employees evaluated their organization as well performing relatively on more performance indicators. Both customers and employees evaluated the documentation performances as satisfying but cost and convenience as dissatisfying performances. Customers identified repetitive custom checking and waste of time in custom inspections process as the most severe problem in freight transport logistics in Ethiopia. The implementation of intermodal freight transport system to bring better change in import-export freight transport logistics of Ethiopia was in bitter challenge for customers due to a number of problems, except documentation performance that showed betterment.

Towards intermodal freight transport system in Ethiopia

Freight transport is an integral part of transportation system and it moves freight of huge value all over the world. For instance, in 2008, more than $16 trillion of exported freight was transported worldwide (Global highlight, 2010). With such contribution freight transportation Service is getting increased attention during this era. Particularly, a system of freight transport that is environmentally safe, minimizes costs, and increases conveniences has become the agenda worldwide. Intermodal transport Service is a system with such objectives of efficient, effective and environmental friendly freight mobility (Brewer, et.al, 2001). This study was made with the main objective of assessing the multimodal freight transport performance in Ethiopia through customer satisfaction and employee evaluation. The literature review and case study approaches were used. The review of literature shows that freight transport practices in general and the implementation of multimodal freight transport system in Ethiopia have been hindered by various problems. These problems include poor existing infrastructure and lack of basic infrastructures, inefficient and ineffective freight vehicles, and long and repetitive custom checking points. The case study on multimodal freight transport performance of Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Service Enterprise showed that majority of customers were either dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with many of the performance indicators. The employees evaluated the organization relatively more positively. Overall, the Enterprise was doing well in terms of transport documentation performance indicators but in terms of cost and convenience the performance was unsatisfactory.

Enhancing Enterprise agility by deploying agile drivers, capabilities and providers

When embracing agility, important questions must be asked. What precisely is agility and how can it be measured? How can one adopt the appropriate agile enablers to develop agility? How can one effectively assist in enhancing agility? For an Enterprise to achieve agility, it is critical to create an effective integrated procedure within the business that coordinates and ensures that the agility providers can satisfy the agility capabilities and cope with drivers, ultimately transforming all of these attributes into strategic competitive edges. However, the existing literature on Enterprise agility has failed to sufficiently address the relevant perspectives in such analyzes. The relationship matrix in the quality function deployment (QFD) method provides an excellent tool for deploying important concepts and linking processes. This report suggests a new agility development method for dealing with the interface and alignment issues among the agility drivers, capabilities and providers using the QFD relationship matrix and fuzzy logic. A fuzzy agility index (FAI) for an Enterprise composed of agility capability ratings and a total relation-weight with agility drivers was developed to measure the agility level of an Enterprise. This report also describes how this robust approach has been applied to develop agility in a Taiwanese information technology (IT) product and Service Enterprise. This development project revealed that the proposed framework and procedures can enhance the agility of an Enterprise as well as ensure a competitive edge.
