A Prospective Multicenter Feasibility Study With Short-Time Infusion of Panitumumab (Ship Trial)

Pmab infusions are normally administered over 60 minutes. In a previous study, 30-minute infusions of panitumumab showed similar safety, pharmacokinetics, and frequency of infusion reaction to 60-minute infusions. Because Pmab consists of fully human monoclonal antibodies, infusion reactions occur less frequently than with cetuximab, chimeric monoclonal antibodies. Short-time infusion of Pmab has the potential to improve patient convenience and reduce costs. Purpose We evaluated the safety of short-time infusion of panitumumab in a prospective multicenter study. Methods Between January 2011 and December 2011, from 14 centers in Japan, a phase II study of Pmab + irinotecan (CPT-11) or Pmab monotherapy in KRAS wild-type metastatic colorectal cancer refractory to CPT-11, oxaliplatin, and fluoropyrimidines was performed. As an additional study, the initial dose of Pmab was administered over 60 minutes, followed by 30-minute infusion; then, all subsequent doses were to be administered over 15 minutes. Results Forty-eight patients were enrolled. Their characteristics were median age of 62 (32-75); male/female, 27/21; Performance Status 0/1/2, 23/24/1; primary lesion in colon/rectum, 21/27; and treatment regimen of CPT-11 + Pmab/Pmab monotherapy, 43/5. The number of patients and doses with 60-/30-/15-minute administration were 48/45/38 cases and 67/56/206 doses, respectively. In all cases with 60-/30-/15-minute infusion, infusion reaction was not encountered. Grade 3/4 toxicities included anorexia 8%, stomatitis 4%, diarrhea 6%, fatigue 4%, rash acneiform 6%, perionychia 4%, leucopenia 8%, neutropenia 8%, anemia 15%, hyponatremia 4%, and hypomagnesemia 4%. This was similar to the results from previous clinical studies on panitumumab. Conclusion In this study, no infusion reactions with 60-/30-/15-minute administration of panitumumab and no increase of frequency of adverse events were observed. This is the first prospective study describing the feasibility of short-time infusion of panitumumab. This study suggests that 15-minute infusions of panitumumab are feasible in patients who tolerate a 60- and then 30-minute infusion sequence. Design of Turning Area for LNG Terminal Base on Computer Simulation

However, these methods only take into account some limited respects for planning a port or are not so cost-effective. In this paper, computer simulator is used for optimizing the size of turning area for Yangshan LNG terminal. The outcome indicates that the major axis and minor axis of the turning area can meet the requirement of Q-Max LNG carrier berthing operation and it is suggested to do such maneuvering in some given conditions related to wind, current, tide, visibility and wave.

Study on Planning of Entrance Fairway for Sea Port Based on Maritime Simulator

Generally the quantitative and qualitative analysis on planning the entrance fairway is mainly based on the standards and regulations given by the administrations. However, these standards and regulations only deal with the respective factor but cannot cover synthetic respect of considering the project feasibility. Moreover it is very tough to do a real-Ship Trial for a planned entrance fairway. In this paper, maritime simulator is used for optimizing the planning of entrance fairway for Fujian LNG terminal. The outcome indicates that the width of the fairway can meet the requirement of Q-Flex LNG carrier entering the port and it is suggested to do more sweeping survey and set some aids to navigation for the planned waterway.

ABSTRACT: The free surface wave field and boundary layer surrounding the Research Vessel, R/V REVELLE, was documented using a System of nine video cameras positioned in optimum viewing locations around the hull The two week Ship Trial, from Christ Church, New Zealand to Pago-Pago, American Samoa took place in February and March, 2002. Camera mounting arrangements are shown, as are representative photographs from each of the cameras. The viewing system, as documented in this report, resulted in an extensive set of qualitative data of the wave system around the R/V REVELLE in both calm water and in sea states 2 and 3.

THE INCREASE IN FRICTIONAL RESISTANCE DUE TO THE ACTION OF WATER ON BOTTOM PAINT

StevensAbstract:In this brief discussion, Mr. Stevens points out the rather startling effect of the aging of bottom, paints in water on the hull frictional resistance factor of Ships. While the data he offers, and the conclusions he reaches are open to attack not only because of the rarity of opportunity to secure such data but because of the confusing factors which affect the results obtained on any full scale Ship Trial at sea, a brief consideration will convince the most skeptical that some increase from simple roughening of the bottom is to be expected, and Mr. Stevens presents enough points to indicate the trend of the curve. While the curve is presumed to represent naval rather than merchant marine employment, some consideration of the type of employment will indicate how it can be expected to vary.
