Cases with Skin lesions without either leukemic nor lymph node involvement have been categorized into a cutaneous type. While the clinical manifestations of the cutaneous-type ATLL are variable, including multiple papules, Nodules, plaques, or erythroderma, a solitary Skin Nodule alone is rare, and only 2 cases have been reported in the literature. We present a 58-year-old Japanese patient with cutaneous-type ATLL that presented as a large, solitary Skin Nodule as the sole clinical feature. The Skin tumor was completely resolved after treatment with x-ray and electron beam irradiation.

Journal of nuclear medicine : official publication Society of Nuclear Medicine, 1993Co-Authors: Chihoko Miyazaki, Kikuo Tsuchiya, Kazuo ItohAbstract:A 54-yr-old woman with cutaneous Nodules showed accumulation of 67Ga- and 111In-labeled leukocytes in Skin Nodules, bilateral pulmonary hilar lymph nodes and the right upper mediastinum. Biopsy of the Skin Nodule proved epithelioid cell granuloma with moderate lymphocyte infiltration peripherally consistent with sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis is a potential pitfall in labeled leukocyte imaging, which is performed for detecting a febrile focus.

Bacillary angiomatosis in a renal transplant recipient.

PescovitzAbstract:A case of bacillary angiomatosis infection presenting as a Skin Nodule in a renal transplant recipient was found. The patient was taking cyclosporine, prednisone, and mycophenolate mofetil at the time of presentation. The bacillary angiomatosis responded to 6 months of therapy with oral erythromycin.
