phase equilibria in the ternary systems li2b4o7 mgb4o7 h2o and k2b4o7 mgb4o7 h2o at 273 k
Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 2016Co-Authors: Meifang Zhou, Qingzhu Liu, Tingting ZhangAbstract:Phase equilibria and phase diagram always play an important role to utilize the salt lake brine resources. In this paper, the phase equilibria in two ternary systems Li2B4O7–MgB4O7–H2O and K2B4O7–MgB4O7–H2O at 273 K were studied using the isothermal Solubility Equilibrium method. The densities and solubilities of the components in these systems listed above were measured. Based on the determined Equilibrium data and the corresponding Equilibrium solid phase, the phase diagram of the ternary systems were shown, respectively. The results show that the two ternary systems at 273 K are simple total saturated type and there are no complex salt and solid solution found. Besides, the phase diagrams of the two ternary systems are both constituted of a eutectic point, two univariant Solubility curves, and two solid crystalline phase regions. The two Equilibrium solid phases corresponding to the eutectic point of the Li2B4O7–MgB4O7–H2O ternary system are Li2B4O7·3H2O and MgB4O7·9H2O. In the K2B4O7–MgB4O7–H2O ternar...

solid liquid metastable phase equilibria in the ternary system mgcl 2 mgso 4 h 2 o at 323 15 k
Russian Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, 2018Co-Authors: Lingzong Meng, Yafei Guo, Tianlong DengAbstract:The solubilities and the densities in the aqueous ternary system (MgCl2 + MgSO4 + H2O) at 323.15 K were determined by the isothermal evaporation method. The phase diagram was drawn for this system at 323.15 K. The phase diagram consists of two invariant points, three univariant curves, and three crystallization regions corresponding to bischofite (MgCl2 · 6H2O), tetrahydrate (MgSO4 · 4H2O) and hexahydrite (MgSO4 · 6H2O). Neither double salts nor solid solution was found. Based on the Pitzer and Harvie–Weare (HW) model, the Solubility Equilibrium constants for the salts were fitted with the solubilities in this research work, and the solubilities of the ternary system at 323.15 K were calculated. Comparisons between the calculated and measured solubilities show that the predicted data agree well with the experimental results.

experimental determination and modeling of the Solubility phase diagram of the ternary system li2so4 k2so4 h2o at 288 15 k
Thermochimica Acta, 2015Co-Authors: Shiqiang Wang, Yafei Guo, Peng Tang, Tianlong DengAbstract:Abstract The Solubility and density in the thermodynamic phase equilibria ternary system (Li2SO4 + K2SO4 + H2O) at 288.15 K and 0.1 MPa were investigated experimentally with the method of isothermal dissolution Equilibrium. This system at 288.15 K consists of two invariant points, three univariant isothermal dissolution curves; and three crystallization regions. The salt Li2SO4·K2SO4 belongs to the incongruent double salt, and no solid solution was found. Based on the Pitzer model and its extended Harvie–Weare (HW) model, the mixing ion-interaction parameters of θLi,K, ψLi,K,SO4 at 288.15 K and the Solubility Equilibrium constants Ksp of solid phases Li2SO4·H2O and Li2SO4·K2SO4, which are not reported in the literature were acquired. A comparison between the calculated and experimental results at 288.15 K for the ternary system shows that the calculated solubilities obtained with the extended HW model agree well with experimental data.

Solubility Behavior of Calcium Sulfate Dihydrate (Gypsum) in an Aqueous Sodium Chloride System in the Presence of Hydroxyalkyl Ammonium Acetate Ionic Liquids Additives: Morphology Changes and Physicochemical Solution Properties at 35 °C
Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 2019Co-Authors: Jignesh Shukla, Mohit J. Mehta, Arvind KumarAbstract:Dissolution characteristics of calcium sulfate dihydrate (gypsum, CaSO4·2H2O) in brines have been investigated in the presence of hydroxyalkyl ammonium acetate ionic liquids (ILs): hydroxyethylammonium acetate (HEAA), dihydroxyethylammonium acetate (DHEAA), or trihydroxyethylammonium acetate (THEAA) at 35 °C. The addition of ILs increased Solubility significantly following the order: HEAA > DHEAA > THEAA. Solubility maximum of CaSO4·2H2O shifted toward a lower concentration of NaCl in solution with the addition of ILs. Mean ionic activity coefficients γ± of CaSO4·2H2O have been estimated as a function of solution ionic strength using the extended Debye–Huckel law with quadratic terms. The Solubility product was calculated using a Solubility Equilibrium of CaSO4·2H2O. Density (ρ) and speed of sound (u) of (CaSO4·2H2O + NaCl + ILs + H2O) system have been recorded at 35 °C. Primary data on u and ρ were used to derive solution isentropic compressibility (κS). Polynomial equations have been used to fit the mea...

Solubility of small molecule crystals in polymers d mannitol in pvp indomethacin in pvp va and nifedipine in pvp va
Pharmaceutical Research, 2009Co-Authors: Geoff G Z Zhang, Lian YuAbstract:Objective Amorphous pharmaceuticals, a viable approach to enhancing bioavailability, must be stable against crystallization. An amorphous drug can be stabilized by dispersing it in a polymer matrix. To implement this approach, it is desirable to know the drug’s Solubility in the chosen polymer, which defines the maximal drug loading without risk of crystallization. Measuring the Solubility of a crystalline drug in a polymer is difficult because the high viscosity of polymers makes achieving Solubility Equilibrium difficult.
