It is instead conceived as a segment of an integral information system of Sports that connects all other information subsystems. Information systems are now used in all activities and greatly facilitate the operation and operation of Sports organizations. This paper analyses the information system within the Sports organization in the City of Zadar. The introductory part of the paper focuses on the theoretical overview of information systems with a particular emphasis on their presence within Sports organizations. The aim of the paper is to present a systematic approach to the use and construction of an information system of Sports organizations, together with examples of the information system of the Sports Association of Zadar and the Sports Association of the City of Zagreb, more precisely the particular structure of their information systems together with the subsystems that are particularly related to the valuation of Sports and indicators of the information system. This paper provides an overview of the application of the information system as an evaluation support for Sports and indicators of the information system of the Sports Association of the City of Zadar. The analysis is based on the survey results conducted with the members of the Sports Association of the City of Zadar.

Paralympics - Barcelona 1992

Thomas, Frank GearyAbstract:The British Team at the 9th Paralympic Games in September 1992 in Barcelona comprised 151 men and 54 women athletes in a total of 15 Sports. They were supported by a staff of 86 including a 12-strong medical team. The athletes were selected from the National Championships of the five disability organizations: British Wheelchair Sports Federation; British Blind Sport; Cerebral Palsy Sport; British Amputee Sports Association; and the British Les Autres Sports Association. This article outlines the organization and experience of the medical support team. The injury/illness profile was similar to those in able bodied sport. The team went on to achieve 40 gold, 47 silver and 41 bronze medals, maintaining third place on the medal table as achieved in Seoul in 1988.

PLOS ONE, 2016Co-Authors: Monika Frenger, Werner Pitsch, Eike EmrichAbstract:In cooperation with the Sports Association of the Palatinate (SBP), a survey was conducted on substance use by recreational and amateur athletes. Distribution of the online questionnaire took place by means of chain-referral sampling, and questions on substance use were presented using the randomized response technique (RRT) to protect the anonymity of respondents and prevent socially desirable answers. The estimated lowest limit for the population share for use of prohibited substances during the last season (4%) and for lifetime use (3.6%) did not differ significantly. Approximately 21% of respondents had used substances for training or competitions that were taken for a purpose other than performance enhancement (e.g., to improve their mood or to help with recuperation from a minor injury or illness) in the last year. 49% had done so at some point in their life.

This paper offers an intriguing view of the relationship between sport and grassroots development through the case study of Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA), an innovative development organization in Nairobi, Kenya that links youth with sport and developmental initiatives. From humble beginnings, MYSA has come to be one of the largest grassroots organizations in Kenya.
