Paul M Sullam - One of the best experts on this subject based on the ideXlab platform.

  • Staphylococcus Aureus biofilms
Biofilms Infection and Antimicrobial Therapy, 2006
    Co-Authors: Julie M Higashi, Paul M Sullam
    Abstract:

A review on Staphylococcus Aureus biofilm pathogenesis and the mol. processes that govern S. Aureus biofilm formation, particularly those involving the first two stages of biofilm development, surface adhesion and intercellular aggregation. The S. Aureus global gene regulators and the clin. significance of biofilm determinants are discussed. on SciFinder (R)

Mark E Shirtliff - One of the best experts on this subject based on the ideXlab platform.

  • Staphylococcus Aureus biofilms
    Virulence, 2011
Co-Authors: Nathan K Archer, Mark J. Mazaitis, Jeff G. Leid, Mary Elizabeth Powers, J. William Costerton, Mark E Shirtliff
    Abstract:

Increasing attention has been focused on understanding bacterial biofilms and this growth modality's ralation to human disease. In this review we explore the genetic regulation and molecular components involved in biofilm formation and maturation in the context of the Gram-positive cocci; Staphylococcus Aureus. In addition; we discuss diseases and host immune responses; along with current therapies associated with S. Aureus biofilm infections and prevention strategies.
