  • Virtual reality Telecommunication System-a person to person multimedia communication System
Global Telecommunications Conference, 2000. GLOBECOM '00. IEEE, 2000
    Co-Authors: Ryoichi Komiya
    Abstract:

The virtual reality Telecommunication System (VRTS) intends to remove today's human to network interface limitations. A new concept of multimedia communication is proposed to advance VRTS research. That is, any media that can be perceived by the five human senses are defined as multimedia. In particular, non-verbal messages in multimedia information are significant to enhance human emotional components in Telecommunication. Based on the proposed VRTS interface definition, three implementation models are discussed for further development

  • Arm gesture transmission for virtual reality Telecommunication System
2000 IEEE International Conference on Communications. ICC 2000. Global Convergence Through Communications. Conference Record, 2000
Co-Authors: Mohd Nazri Ramliy, Ryoichi Komiya
    Abstract:

We present our plan to develop a first prototype for the virtual reality Telecommunication System (VRTS) to transmit and reconstruct human arm gestures that are normally present in face-to-face communication. The gestures will be reconstructed using robotics. The first prototype is coupled with a 3D-videophone System thus enabling the transmission of audio, video and gesture information. The importance of incorporating non-verbal messages in Telecommunication by use of robotics is emphasized. We discuss the possibility of using a vision based motion tracking System to track the human arm motion as well as the design issues related to the System

  • Virtual reality Telecommunication System
Fifth Asia-Pacific Conference on ... and Fourth Optoelectronics and Communications Conference on Communications, 1999
Co-Authors: Ryoichi Komiya, Mohd Nazri Ramliy, N.a.m. Arif, T.g.h. Prasad
    Abstract:

We propose three reference models for virtual reality Telecommunication System that are robotic, electronics and hybrid. The hybrid reference model is mainly discussed which is composed of three dimensional videophone with robotic arm.

  • seismic qualification of Telecommunication System in nuclear power plant
International Conference on Genetic and Evolutionary Computing, 2015
    Co-Authors: Zhichun Li, Yong Zheng
    Abstract:

To guarantee the effective communications under earthquake and enhance the utility of communication System in nuclear power plants, it is proposed to do seismic qualification test for all Telecommunication System in nuclear power plant. In this paper, a principle include object, scope method and setup of the qualification is provided. It is found that if Telecommunication equipments pass such qualification test, the availability of communication System and the safe operation of nuclear power plant can be guaranteed when earthquake occur.

  • ICGEC - Seismic Qualification of Telecommunication System in Nuclear Power Plant
Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing, 2015

  • The Universal Mobile Telecommunication System
    IEEE Communications Magazine, 1992
    Co-Authors: S. Chia
    Abstract:

The concepts, requirements, and technologies of Europe's third generation mobile communication System-the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS)-are discussed. The cellular architecture, radio resource, adaptive resource allocation and handover enabling techniques for realizing an effective UMTS access network are described. The modulation schemes, multiple access methods, and duplexing methods used in the third generation mobile System's flexible radio interface are also described. The architecture, mobility support, and protocol development of the UMTS fixed network are outlined.
